cinq à sept sank·ah·set sæŋk’eɪ’set n : The time between late afternoon and early evening when streets are awash in the warm glow of the vanishing sun and anything is possible
A clothing line that shares a name with one of my favorite French terms just makes me happy. When I first came across this line about a season ago, I knew I was going to continue to be drawn to it. Cinq à Sept is easy and sophisticated, as it is playful with an allure of confidence. The collection’s modern feminine aesthetic embraces unexpected detail and shape, resulting in pieces that draw their romance and sexiness from the woman wearing them. I knew from the moment that I saw this silk bomber, it was perfect not only for NYFW, but Valentine’s Day as well.
This dress just nailed it. I am not a huge fan of ruffles when they are overwhelming, but the gorgeous detail in this silk dress was spot on. Again, it mixes sexiness and a bit of edge with that romance we all want. Paired with the bomber, the whole outfit was perfection. For date night, I will certainly be putting on a heel, but for NYFW it was perfect with my favorite Nike sneakers.
Cinq à Sept founder Jane Siskin, trusts that her customers are ready for a gutsier approach then some of the other contemporary labels. Her m.o. is to dress them for “special moments,” not everyday drudgery—so why play it safe? With old-world interiors and the ’40s, the shoe opened with a chocolate and turquoise velvet damask coat with fur cuffs. It may not be for everyone, but the girls who love it will really love it.
All things being said, yes we are still a month out from Valentine’s Day, but when I saw this French color sweatshirt from J.Crew my heart began to flutter. It seems that as soon as January hits, retail stores begin to prepare us for this day, whether it be floods of red dresses or conversation hearts at every market.
Thanks to J.Crew, they have a ton of great Valentine’s Day ideas for every type of occasion. Shop it all here, as this little tee is also on my favorites list.
I am not a huge red and pink girl, so finding this fun and cute sweatshirt made my day. Not only will I wear it all through the Spring, but mixing it up with denim on denim and adding my Air Force sneakers made if feel more sporty. The silhouette of this jacket is beyond. It feels unique and fresh. Simply paired with dark denim it automatically becomes cool.
I love to add a pop of color in a purse. This bag ,from J.Crew as well, is the perfect size for a day of sightseeing in NYC. I hit the high line in the Meat Packing District in this whole look, it’s located next to The Chelsea Market, one of my favorite places to shop for wine and sweet treats.
Of course, nothing makes shopping easier then being in a comfortable pair of sneakers, so my limited edition Nike Air Force 1 NYC editions from Kith are perfect. Not to mention the little heart and pop of red also are fun for Valentine’s Day.
Ban.do is all about having fun in life. This lifestyle brand based in sunny Los Angeles, California specializes in gifts and accessories. Their motto is simple, they want to cheer you on and make you laugh, just as your best friends would.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, I always dedicate a fun day with my girlfriends where we exchange silly little gifts reminding each other how much fun we always have. It will be hard for me to choose, but I definitely will be sporting the girl gang sweatshirt and giving a fun gift from this cute line.
It is that time of year again for a great excuse to buy a pretty little dress. I always love to get dressed up for date nights, and one of my favorite sites to find great pieces is Revolve Clothing. Anytime I need something for an event, they are my first site to browse as their brands are playful and sexy, but still polished enough for a woman in her thirties.
This Valentine’s Day, I think I have to have few separate date nights, as all of the dresses below are on my wishlist. Happy Valentine’s Day!
