One of the things I love about the holidays is being cozy at home in front of the Christmas tree and a warm fire. Nothing makes me more excited then hot cocoa, pumpkin bread, and a good old holiday movie. I always tend to purchase at least one pair of new pajamas that are perfect for this time of year, and certainly to be worn while opening up gifts on Christmas morning.
One of my favorite contemporary and casual lines The Rails just launched pajamas! These are so comfy, I cannot even begin, and they come in both short and long sleeve versions. I purchased mine at Hiptique this past week. What I love about them, is they make an amazing gift as well. They come wrapped up in the perfect little box, and anyone will enjoy these.
I also am a huge fan of cashmere sweaters during the winter. Trovata clothing available at Shopbop has a ton of gorgeous statement ones. You know me, I love a sweater with a little something on it, and this is so cute paired with the pajamas or with jeans. If you do not want to spend a ton, I recommend H&M and Nordstrom for some other great holiday sweaters.
I live in my slippers all winter long. These are from Ugg and they keep me cozy and warm on hardwood floors. Also, they are super on trend. My other favorites are a fun pair from J.Crew, they are super girly and fuzzy.
Last, if you are looking for ideas for a small gift, I love a coffee table book or candle. I mean you absolutely cannot go wrong here for anyone. Hiptique and Nordstrom’s both carry some of my favorite brands. Also for something different, check out Urban Outfitters. They have so many unique and fun gift ideas. When I am not sure, I always go with a book and candle, or a fun pair of pajamas. Everyone can use these items, and they brighten up any room and bed!
I can’t believe that the NBA Finals are almost here. Currently I have been on lockdown watching the Conference championship games. Both the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to advance past the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics. The first team my father coached in the NBA was the Seattle Supersonics, and I will always have a love for them. Since they moved to Oklahoma City and were renamed, the team gear has a vintage feel to it.
It is easy to continue to represent, even if your team isn’t in the playoffs. For me, it is simply to find fun retro throwback t-shirts and gear that remind me of the players and teams from the past. Right now, I am totally reminiscing about the Sonic days, as it was our families first NBA finals experience. Not only that, the green and yellow are so much fun together and totally pop while wearing it out.
For me, since the shirt is a throwback, I simply paired it with my favorite J.Crew denim jeans. This distressed pair are skinny to the ankle with a bit of high waist, so they are easy to tuck a t-shirt in to give you more shape.
One of my favorite players is Gary Payton, and that made this shirt more fun. I love wearing the numbers of players that I truly love right on my sleeve. Not only that, I mean could this J.Crew handbag not be any more cool? I will continue to wear this all summer with my fun dresses.
These New Balance kicks for J.Crew have been on rotation for me as well. I love the clean white look, with just the small bit of metallic in them. Cheers to the NBA, and check out some of my other favorite throwback pieces below!
It is here! The new Like to Know it App has launched through the apple store to make shopping that much easier for you. Being a part of this amazing new technology could not be more fun. Their new motto “it all started with a screenshot” says it all. Just download the app to your phone, and simply snap a screenshot of my look across Instagram, Pinterest, or Snapchat. Then you can shop my entire look right there on the spot. I mean could shopping get any easier then this?
This launch deserves a happy dance, and these pants from Zara are right on the money for it. How fun and unique are these black pants? This season try something different than your normal trouser and go for something more wild and carefree. Ruffles, lace, and frills are all the rage, so make sure to find a pair that suits your style.
Bell sleeve and lace up blouses are still trending big for spring and summer, and this cream piece from Lulus’s felt perfect for these pants. My first thought was to go simple on the top, but I wanted to get outside of my comfort level and mix and match the whole look in an unexpected way. I will for sure by wearing this top with my denim skirt when the weather heats up a bit. Not to mention, pick up a trendy and inexpensive timepiece like this one from Urban Outfitters.
When it comes to accessories, I love to wear a bold earring from time to time. Right now, eclectic and big earrings are trending hard, and these will make a statement. I usually keep to small posts, so it is fun to add another element to the look. Also, it streamlines the entire outfit, and they are also available at Urban Outfitters for under $25.00!
Okay, can we cheer anymore for these pom pom sneakers from Steve Madden? I love that the flatform sneaker is going strong again, and this is a fun way to show your spirit by adding a little flair. Not only are they kind of wild, but they add a hip factor to any outfit you are wearing.
We all know that when it comes to holiday shopping there are a lot of people to cover. From your next door neighbor to your co-workers the list can get long. Not only does it get expensive fast, some people are harder to shop for then others. No need to fret, I have found some fun gifts that will cover all the people on your list, and they are all under $50.00!
