Casual work meetings in Portland!

I cannot believe that it has been a year since a small passion project of mine has grown into a much bigger idea. While sitting at NBA summer league last July, I began to see an area of women’s design in athletic wear that had yet to be part of the market. Thus began some fun new creative ideas that are now turning into lots of cool things. For the past few years, I had only been styling, and had really let some of my creative love for design go, and with some big changes last year, I was able to tap back into them.

Athletic wear

If you know much about Portland, this time of year is gorgeous, and most of my meetings are in the athletic and street wear side of things, so there is no need to be dressy. I fell in love with this cool denim jacket from The Rails, because star designs are one of my favorites. Not only that, it feels lucky and will be perfect all summer long. Also, I have never met a fun statement tee or a camo print that I do not like, so I grabbed this cute Boyfriends Current Elliott tee the moment I saw it. It adds a fun edge to the look.

Star denim jacket and camo tee

AG denim have long been one of my favorites. I can wear them on the plane, as they are super comfy, and this pair is the perfect shade of grey. I love that I can wear jeans to the meeting, and the high-waist and selvage bottoms are totally on trend.

Because I am only here for a couple of days, I tend to pack light. The look is great for meetings with the denim jacket on, and perfect to stroll the streets when t he sun is out wrapping the jacket around my waist. I am long a fan of denim on denim, and again, the tee is cute and fun for a day of shopping and sight seeing.

Casual denim

Of course I am traveling with a few sneakers, but one of my favorite combos is green and pink. These fun adidas sneakers are not only super comfy for travel, I can wear them to meetings, and run in them. They go perfectly with this look to pitch ideas in!

Cheers to lots of fun things to come! I cannot wait to be able to tell you all more!!!

Memorial Day Weekend Vibes!

Well I absolutely cannot believe that summer is already here again! I have so much going on between work and travel (they pretty much all combine) that my calendar is making me a bit crazy, but in a good way! I will be in Portland, LA, Vegas, Milwaukee, and possibly Europe just to name a few. This weekend I am off to Milwaukee for a few days to finish a work project, and then am going to head to the Hamptons for a day, before back to NYC life. What I love most about this time of year, is that it is finally time to break out my summer wardrobe. I did a quick packing job in order to mix and match all weekend, which makes my life easy.

“Island Time” tee from J.Crew

On my list this season were a handful of fun statement tees, like this super cute “Island Time” one from J.Crew. They are so easy to mix and match with everything from yoga pants for a workout, to underneath a light jacket for a night out. I simply paired it with this fun skirt, also from J.Crew. I mean, I will live in this piece in the city all summer.

Nike kicks for summer

Besides the cute skirt and tee, I couldn’t resist this lemony yellow bag from J.Crew as well. Nothing beats a good pop of color. Besides that, how great are these Nike Mayfly kicks. They are absolutely the most comfortable pair I own, and their pretty cool don’t you think?

Live in jean shorts in summerIt is beach time! The weather is still a bit chilly, so when headed to the beach this weekend, I definitely like to have a cute long sleeve denim shirt with me to put on. I am such a fan of a one-piece swimsuits, as it fits my body well, and I can actually wear it out at night with some great jeans. For me, denim jean shorts are my jam in the summer. I wear them out at night, to the beach, and during the day. It may be my most universal piece of clothing, and I am digging this high-waisted pair from J.Crew. Well, this whole look is J.Crew, and as you can see they do summer really well.

Simply grab a cute tote bag under $50.00 like this one from Nordstrom to throw all your beach goodies in. Pair the look with simple fun aviator shades under $25 as well!

adidas summer dress

Lets not forget that I always like to get my workouts in while I am traveling. This weekend, I have decided to mix it up and possibly play some golf or tennis, and this adidas dress is simply perfect. You can wear it to lunch and then to do some fun activities after. Instead of golf shoes, I decided to mix it up with these cute Vans for a bit of a hipster vibe.

With the sun out, a ball cap always keeps me from getting too much sun. I found this all black one from Nordstrom, and it is also under $25. This whole look is from Nordstrom, and I am totally digging it.

Reminder to pair it with a good sporty watch and some fun bangles. I have purchased a few different timepieces, but when it comes to outdoors, I love the adidas one, as it is fashionable and functional.

A weekend getaway to Nantucket!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to take a little vacation to somewhere I have yet to be. I have always wanted to got to Nantucket, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. It is the cutest place filled with the most amazing people. Everywhere you go, the cobblestone streets are filled with local restaurants, bakeries, and fun boutiques.

Nantucket weekend getaway

Of course, a staple on the East Coast is a good pair of white jeans, and this denim pair from 7 For All Mankind were perfect. I simply paired them all weekend with several light weight sweaters. The weather is still chilly there, so you need to make sure to layer. My new favorite line is Lingua Franca available at Saks Fifth Avenue. They have cute sayings on them, and they are super comfortable.

Hollenberg Brothers boots

There was lots of rain so my Hollenberg Brothers boots were great all weekend. When the sun did come out, my new floral Nike trainers were spot on.

We did head down to the beach, and the weather was nice enough to throw on this cute tee and hat the I am obsessed with from J.Crew. I did have a hoodie, but this outfit will definitely be worn there again.

My two favorite stops were a boutique by the name of Salt, and obviously the cash only local ice cream store that has a line around the block. Their vanilla with sprinkles was so amazing, of course I wanted to go back everyday. The women doing the buying for Salt carries all kind of small under the radar jewelry and bathing suit labels.

Two of my favorite things about the island are the lighthouse and the cobblestone streets. They are a reminder of what a beautiful and charming place that the island, known as the “Grey Lady” is. The history of the lighthouse is so unique and paying a visit is a must. When you walk the streets in town, there is a vibe you don’t get anywhere else, and I can’t wait to visit it again!

Making a weekend trip easy breezy!

When it comes to getting away for the weekend, I really try to bring pieces that I can mix and match so that my suitcase stays somewhat organized. Lately it seems that I am on a plane every other weekend or so, and making my fashion and beauty routine simple is a must. Sticking to a color palette that works across the board, is always a good idea. I also keep my makeup and nighttime routine very minimal and stick with the basics ( I mean you can always buy something if needed).

Trendy graphic tee for weekend trip

This whole look from J.Crew is fun, on trend, and so comfortable for travel. I usually add a jean jacket for the plane, as I always get cold. One thing I love about this graphic tee, is that you can wear it with a pair of jeans, a maxi skirt, or layer a leather jacket over it and make it into several looks. I usually pack two fun ones with me to wear.

colorful clutch

When it comes to bags, I like to make it easy. I found this colorful clutch from J.Crew that can also be thrown into my bigger tote for the day as a wallet. Anytime you can use one bag for the night it really helps with space. Mixing and matching patterns is big so go for it when it comes to this trend.

Leopard print pants

It is all about the lightweight pants. I can’t stand to be uncomfortable when I travel, and once the weather is nicer, linen pants work so well for me. How cool are these leopard print ones from J.Crew? For the night, I will add my nude pump and a cool blouse for a dinner date. Once again, I try to pack a fun pair that can be worn several ways over the weekend. Of course I always pack one jean in my suitcase as well!

New Balance sneakers for the weekend

Well shoes seem to be my hardest struggle when I pack. I simply want to bring ten pairs of sneakers with me, I mean who doesn’t? These New Balance kicks are perfect. Since they are full of color and very comfortable, they go with all my looks. Now all I simply need to pack are my running shoes, and one pump for the evening.

Baby-G watch

I used to never wear a watch, or maybe it was that they all didn’t work! These days I seem to be running all over, and knowing that I forget my charger half of the time, I like to make sure I have on a timepiece. Lately I have been into fun and sporty ones, like this dusty rose Baby G from Nordstrom. It is not very expensive, water resistant, and totally fun. Remember, keep it simple, have fun with wardrobe and mix and match to make your travel weekend easy!

How to travel in Style!

We all know that street style has become a massive part of our culture, and looking comfortable yet cool can sometimes be difficult. Celebrity street style has become its own red carpet, and some of the most authentic and best dressed fashion comes straight from the tarmac. As you pack up and head out, you want to look effortless, comfy, and chic.

Travel in style trench

I am always chilly on the airplane, so wearing an on trend coat like this camel colored trench from Topshop is easy. Not only is it a gorgeous piece for the weekend ahead, but it will keep me warm on the plane and moves easily.

Adidas watch for travel and style

Never under estimate the power of a cool ball cap. This one from H&M is totally on trend for the Spring, and mixed with my favorite sporty watch from Adidas I will always be on time. Lets be real, my cell phone dies all the time when I travel, and I like to have on a watch to be safe.

Trendy Adidas Gazelles

Comfortable yet trendy athleisure is my go to for the plane. I love these Adidas Gazelles and track pants paired with a simple yet cool sweatshirt. If the plane gets toasty and I put my coat up, I can move easily and feel cool and hip. Traveling in sneakers that are trendy is key. When you have to run to catch a connection, you will be happy to be thankful.

Last, some of my favorite carry on items are below. Just before landing I like to make sure I get off the plane feeling refreshed and glowing. These products that I store in my favorite Herschel  carrying case are perfect.
