Okay you guys, the holidays are here, and there are some amazing and fun trends that will make every girl on the block feel cool. From futuristic shades, to vinyl pants, and funky boots, it is fun to rock something different. If you are looking for something for the fashionista, then look no further!
I kinda love these fun shades that I picked up at Nordstrom. They are not only super funky and make a great gift, but they are just $12.00. Make sure to check out the Brass Plum section for all kinds of shades that will not bust your budget! Also, what girl does not love a great pair of boots! These white patent pair are super trendy, but any fashion forward girl will love them. They are Steve Madden and are on sale as well!
There is something to be said about a fun fanny pack for a friend as well. If you are on the go, they are so simple and make a look a bit cooler and hip. This one is from Chelsea 28. I was a little scared to wear it at first, and now I want another! Yes these pants are vinyl, and not the easiest to pull off. So if you are feeling something super spicy, I would totally try a pair, or simply a fun faux leather legging. These are from Topshop and again are under $100.00.
One more on trend look that makes a great gift is a fun jacket to layer. I love the lace detail mixed with the sporty edge of this Veronica Beard piece. You can find fun ones at every price point!
Well, this fall has been insanely busy. I feel like I am juggling so many different plates, which is exciting and exhausting at the same time. So many fun projects are in the works, hopefully I can share them with you in the next month or two! One of the things that I love about California weather is that a simple lightweight sweater and cool jeans are usually about all you need this time of year.
For me, staying on time is imperative when you are busy. I was so excited to team up with Daniel Wellington, who make such pretty timepieces. This Classic Petite Ashfield is both dressy and sporty, so I can wear it with everything. If you head to www.danielwellington.com and enter SUZIG at checkout you will get 15% off!
So I am obsessed with all things fun and embellished right now. When I saw these “bee” sneaks from Steve Madden I knew I had to have them, I mean they are just so fun. Nothing reminds me to keep the pep in my step than these shoes, that is for sure.
I am always on the hunt for different types of sweaters that can be dressed up or down for a day on set, or a night out on the town. I love the bell sleeves of this Topshop sweater, because it is super on trend. I’ll wear it with my black leather skirt at night to dress it up.
I am still on a high waisted denim kick for fall, these jeans from Good American are more comfy than any I have worn in awhile. I love the idea of distressed ripped jean mixed with a cool sweater like this. Again, these can easily be rocked at night with a cool pump.
Okay guys, we all know that I am an active athlete and sun worshiper here in Los Angeles. For me, making sure that I have on the proper SPF and coverage is a must. I am literally always outside running, swimming, or just running around town, and so when I came across the coolest line of make-up Sweat Cosmetics I had to try.
My face is really sensitive, but I like to have on some make-up when I am out exercising because it just makes me feel much better about myself. Sweat Cosmetics are high-performance makeup products designed to protect and enhance beauty while being on the go. They were developed and tested by Olympic female athletes in order to empower active women to embrace beauty and find their sweat. From the moment that I put it on, I knew that I was sold, and not only that, it outlasted a major run on the beach, plus a quick dip in the ocean. If you are on the go like me, run don’t walk to pick up their products.
Besides a good new cosmetic for on the go, I also tend to live in baseball hats in the summer when I am trying to beat the heat. This cute California hat from Nordstrom is the perfect pink and is only $15 dollars. I mean talk about a steal.
The weather as we know cools off at night, and so I have been living in this cute adidas sweatshirt in the early am. It will be perfect for the Fall as well with my skinny jeans and sneakers. For now, I am on a white denim jean short kick. How cute are this pair from Topshop? You can wear them in the day, or pair them with a cute bootie and blouse for the night.
Last, of course I have been living in my New Balance kicks that I have had for two years. They are worn in and go with almost everything. I love the simplicity of this color, but if you want a bolder pair they have a ton of fun colors right now.
One of my favorite combinations living in Cali was pairing a great sweater with some cool jean shorts. The weather always tends to drop in the evening, and so keeping lightweight sweaters out year round is a must. Here in NYC for the next couple of months I will be traveling to places where temps drop in the evening. So this is a look I will keep here on the East Coast as well. I tend to live in my denim shorts all summer, and so picking up a few new sweaters, like this one from Vince is perfect.
Usually in the summer time, I throw on a cool pair of kicks with my jean shorts. These Nike AirForce 1 tan and black mid tops are awesome. They will go with everything in my wardrobe, and they are super comfortable as well. I paired them with my favorite sporty adidas watch and some simple H&M bangles.
It is all about the belt this summer. Whether you go for a western style, like this fun one from Topshop, or a simple black belt, make sure to add it to your list. Just this small accessory added to jean shorts and a sweater can make all the difference! Step out of your comfort zone, and find one that has a cool pattern.
Being raised in an NBA family, I have spent a good part of my life at sporting events. Athleisure wear has become such a big part of what we wear everyday, so it has become much easier to look cute, while still being comfortable at any type of game.
Now that winter has gone, baseball season and summer sporting events are in full swing. Some may dread it, some may not even realize it’s here, and some may adore it, but regardless which category you fall into, you can’t deny going to a live sports game is beyond entertaining. The camaraderie, the cheering and the superstitious game-day-rituals make all sports events exciting. Whether you’re a super fan, or just a spectator, I will make sure you’re dressed and ready to go for any sports game.
Know The Venue
Is this an outdoor stadium, or an indoor stadium? Where are your seats? Knowing ahead of time what the venue looks like and how it is laid out will prepare you for the type of day you will be encountering.
Rain Or Shine
Anytime there is a chance of being outside, you always want to pay attention to the weather. Rain or shine, these large sporting events go on without hesitation. If there is even the slightest chance of rain, don’t assume the game will be cancelled—athletes have been trained to play in the worst conditions, so be ready to go no matter what.
Rain and Night Games
Layers for warmth
Sweatshirt with a hood
Rain poncho (no umbrellas; they block the view of your neighbors)
Rain boots (if necessary)
Lightweight jacket or long sleeve (perhaps something you can tie around your waist)
Hat to shield your face
Go The Distance
Let’s not sugar coat it, the duration of the day will be long, especially after going up and down those steep stairs for hot dogs. Wearing extra comfortable shoes is more than a necessity for any game day activity so stick with shoes with rubber soles like trainers, or even a shoe with a small wedge heel to make sure your feet are not going to give out on you half way through the day.
Know The Team Colors
If you are a fan, support your team by wearing team colors! It may seem silly, but it’s part of the fun to give in to sports traditions. If you feel strange walking through the grocery store before hand with paint on your face, we promise you’ll feel right at home as soon as you get in that stadium. In fact, you may even feel left out by NOT wearing the team colors. Also, knowing the opposing teams colors is a good idea too, because nothing is more awkward then accidentally choosing an all orange ensemble at a Los Angeles Dodgers home game versus The San Francisco Giants.
Small Bags Are Best
Choosing a bag that is small and requires no hands is your best bet, because you’ll want to stay mobile and not worry about finding a place to set it down. Who knows how many drinks are spilled at a game, and we don’t want your bag getting soaked with soda and mustard from being smashed on the floor by your feet. Also, the NFL now has a clear bag policy, so make sure to keep up to date on rules and regulations.
Getting the chance to attend a sporting event is a real experience from the beginning. From the pre-game grill sessions, to the screaming fans, to the little kids dancing in the stands, to the “kiss-cam” on the big screen, you’ll find there is plenty to take in besides just the game. So put on your best game-face and get rowdy with the professionals!
