One of the things I love about the holidays is being cozy at home in front of the Christmas tree and a warm fire. Nothing makes me more excited then hot cocoa, pumpkin bread, and a good old holiday movie. I always tend to purchase at least one pair of new pajamas that are perfect for this time of year, and certainly to be worn while opening up gifts on Christmas morning.
One of my favorite contemporary and casual lines The Rails just launched pajamas! These are so comfy, I cannot even begin, and they come in both short and long sleeve versions. I purchased mine at Hiptique this past week. What I love about them, is they make an amazing gift as well. They come wrapped up in the perfect little box, and anyone will enjoy these.
I also am a huge fan of cashmere sweaters during the winter. Trovata clothing available at Shopbop has a ton of gorgeous statement ones. You know me, I love a sweater with a little something on it, and this is so cute paired with the pajamas or with jeans. If you do not want to spend a ton, I recommend H&M and Nordstrom for some other great holiday sweaters.
I live in my slippers all winter long. These are from Ugg and they keep me cozy and warm on hardwood floors. Also, they are super on trend. My other favorites are a fun pair from J.Crew, they are super girly and fuzzy.
Last, if you are looking for ideas for a small gift, I love a coffee table book or candle. I mean you absolutely cannot go wrong here for anyone. Hiptique and Nordstrom’s both carry some of my favorite brands. Also for something different, check out Urban Outfitters. They have so many unique and fun gift ideas. When I am not sure, I always go with a book and candle, or a fun pair of pajamas. Everyone can use these items, and they brighten up any room and bed!
I cannot believe that it has been a year since a small passion project of mine has grown into a much bigger idea. While sitting at NBA summer league last July, I began to see an area of women’s design in athletic wear that had yet to be part of the market. Thus began some fun new creative ideas that are now turning into lots of cool things. For the past few years, I had only been styling, and had really let some of my creative love for design go, and with some big changes last year, I was able to tap back into them.
If you know much about Portland, this time of year is gorgeous, and most of my meetings are in the athletic and street wear side of things, so there is no need to be dressy. I fell in love with this cool denim jacket from The Rails, because star designs are one of my favorites. Not only that, it feels lucky and will be perfect all summer long. Also, I have never met a fun statement tee or a camo print that I do not like, so I grabbed this cute Boyfriends Current Elliott tee the moment I saw it. It adds a fun edge to the look.
AG denim have long been one of my favorites. I can wear them on the plane, as they are super comfy, and this pair is the perfect shade of grey. I love that I can wear jeans to the meeting, and the high-waist and selvage bottoms are totally on trend.
Because I am only here for a couple of days, I tend to pack light. The look is great for meetings with the denim jacket on, and perfect to stroll the streets when t he sun is out wrapping the jacket around my waist. I am long a fan of denim on denim, and again, the tee is cute and fun for a day of shopping and sight seeing.
Of course I am traveling with a few sneakers, but one of my favorite combos is green and pink. These fun adidas sneakers are not only super comfy for travel, I can wear them to meetings, and run in them. They go perfectly with this look to pitch ideas in!
Cheers to lots of fun things to come! I cannot wait to be able to tell you all more!!!
For those that know me well, I practically live in maxi skirts and dresses all year long. Don’t get me wrong, I still wear my favorite heels, but usually I like to give it my own spin with a great pair of sneakers. This blue skirt from Alice and Olivia may be one of the best I have found in years. The color is gorgeous and the pleats are perfection.
I live in vintage rock tees all the time. In the winter, I love to pair them under a jacket, and pairing it with the unexpected makes if more fun. I came across Madeworn this past week. It is a brand started by the creator of Junk Food Clothing, Blaine Halvorson, who has taken vintage and music apparel to a luxury level.
Being in New York City, I have certainly fallen in love. One of my favorite denim lines The Rails had me marching to my own beat in this Knox jacket. I mean how cute is the New York logo on the back?
Even better, you can customize your own, which I just did with my name on the back. Check it out below.
Last but certainly not least, is the the adidas Gazelle. This shoe has been around since I can remember, and my first pair were back in the seventh grade. I had a pair of navy blue ones that I wore into the ground. They recently have had a revival, and right away I went out to get a basic pair of black that go with everything. One style tip, is to never be shy of mixing things up. A maxi skirt is more unique with a cool pair of sneakers and a vintage rock tee!
