What to Wear to a Spring Wedding!

It is that time of year again already. It seems like with a blink of an eye, wedding season is upon us once again. I have three coming up this season, and like most women I want to look fabulous on a budget. With so many fun options, I like to stand out with fun color either in the dress itself, like this amazing yellow lace piece from Nordstrom or in a detailed accessory.

Spring wedding romper

This Christian Dior bag from The Real Real was a steal. If you are like me, I love to find designer items on a budget. This site is amazing for that, and this purse is not only fun, but definitely has fun pops of color whether you pair it with a bold dress, or a simple black number for a dressier wedding.

Two of the weddings I will be attending are in California, and the nights always cool off. Instead of bringing along a pashmina, I like to do something a bit more playful and unexpected. This soft suede Blank NYC jacket Is perfect. The color is gorgeous, and it goes right along with my personality. A long duster coat would also be a perfect addition to many dresses.

Long silk dresses and trending accessories!

It is that time of year again when the maxi dress returns!  If you know me well, I tend to live in these during the Spring and Summer, either with my sneakers or booties. From bright poppy florals, to subdued prints like this piece from L’Agence their easy to throw on and get out the door quickly. For work days, I like to sticking to dresses that have sleeves, but for the night, a fun strapless dress is my go to.

Maxi dress

There is something about the warm weather that makes me want to play around with accessories a bit more. Maybe all the layering of coats, scarves, and gloves has me a bit tired, so the second I get to showcase bags and jewelry, I get really excited. One thing that I love, is you can now find a ton of fun and on trend items for under $50. I tend to pick up a handful of these key items, and mix and match them. I am dying for all of the fun bags this season with floral and funky prints, like this one from Topshop. Mixing patterns is a favorite of mine. Check out some picks below!

Fashion watch

Okay, so we all need a great staple watch in our lives, but I love seeing some cool ones on the fly for under $50. Thanks to fast fashion, you can find a couple fun ones like the above piece from H&M that don’t have to last forever. I love to layer my watches with a bunch of bangles as well when I don’t have sleeves. Also, try something new in a bandana this season. I am totally a necklace girl, and this trend is fun to play around with. Again, try mixing and matching, that always makes a look more playful. Some more of my favs are below!

Zappos taupe bootie

Of course we know I love my sneakers, but an easy taupe bootie is a must in every wardrobe. I mean it practically goes with everything that you own. This pair from Zappos couldn’t be more comfortable, and if you can believe they too are under $50! Check out some other ones that will not break the bank, and I have test driven them all on the streets, and these four are all comfortable. As they wear in the taupe looks more vintage like, which adds a cool factor to any outfit!

Palm Trees and Beaches!

Well, it has been almost three months in New York City, and I couldn’t be more excited to be home in California for a week! Not only do I get to relax by the beach, but my entire family is also in town to watch the Milwaukee Bucks play. I mean, what would a trip be without some sports event involved? The first thing I will be doing is taking a long run in Venice and brunching at my favorite spot Rose Café. For the rest of the trip we will either be at Staples Center for some NBA or planted watching the NCAA tourney at Baja Cantina in Marina Del Rey!

fun jacket

Leaving the blizzard behind, my first thought was to wear a skirt without tights. This may be the first day that my winter coat is off, and I am loving it! One of my favorite lines, Paige Denim, just did the coolest collaboration with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. I am obsessed with this piece for Spring. Play around with a fun statement on the back like this “Forever and Ever” Rosie HW X Paige bomber. Also, hoops are making a comeback, and Topshop always has really fun jewelry that is spot on trend wise.

Beach skirt

Leather and suede in white and pastel colors are another big trend this season. I love this fun skirt from Topshop to dance around in. Since it is high-waisted it looks great with a simple tank tucked into it and layered with a jacket. When the weather is even warmer, a fun crop top will be perfect as well.

Palm tree clutch

What would a trip be like to Los Angeles without a trendy iridescent clutch highlighted with palm trees? I love to invest in handbags that I will have for years, but when it comes to something more playful, I love finding cute ones that are under $50. This one, again from Topshop works for all of my vacations coming up. You are going to see a lot of funky and fun iridescent pieces this Spring, so break out of your shell and try it in a fun accessory.

Sneakers for the beach

You had me at hello once again Nike. I am absolutely loving this Air Force 1 High Top. The little bit of powder blue on the bottom makes it for me. I love the all white pair, but now the added color definitely adds some spring into my step. Once again, look out for all things pastel this season, especially in shoes. You can pair these with some cropped denim and a tee, or play them up like I did here with a fun skirt.

Everyday, Game Day

March Madness is here!

Well, it is already the middle of March, and the NCAA men’s college basketball tourney has begun. I grew up watching my father coach UNLV in three final four tournaments. The memory of winning the National Championship in 1990 makes me nostalgic every year when this time comes around. The athletes and coaches pour their heart and souls into every game, and the excitement of it all never gets old. This year, I will get the opportunity to see the Sweet 16 here in New York City, and this Game day style is casual and works for every fan. If your team is in the hunt, make sure to sport your team colors along the way!

track jacket

The track jacket is back, and there are no shortage of great ones to be found from many retailers. I love this one from H&M because it is simple and comes in a few different colors. I will mix it up with tees during the games, and it will look fun at night with an edgy leather skirt in the summer.

Vintage tee

Athleisure is huge right now, and many stores like Topshop are doing fun throw back vintage tees from different college and pro teams. Since I am not really routing for any team in particular, this fun Wildcats shirt screams team spirit with a cool girl edge.

Boyfriend denim

Now to the jeans. If you are following trends, frayed and patchwork boyfriend denim is all the rage. Try a fun style that suits your body type. This pair from Zara have a wide leg and sit at the hip, which is perfect for my frame. If you are a bit shorter or curvy, try a higher-waisted pair that come to the ankle with a straighter leg.

My own look

One way to show your rah rah style, is with a pop of gold! Thanks to H&M this handbag not only adds a fun touch, but it is under $50. I paired it with a simple watch from H&M as well and stacked on some rings from Topshop to make the look my own.

Adidas throwback sneaker

Last, lets not forget about the shoes Stan Smith! I love the comeback that Adidas is having right now. This throwback sneaker was one of my first pairs back in the day, and now they are back on trend. I love that you can get them in plain white, or find a pair with the small bit of color at the heel.

Cheers to MARCH MADNESS AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ON THEIR BRACKETS! Check out mine below, who knows how it will shape up, but it sure is fun to do one with friends. You can sign up right at

Lifestyle, Trends

Saturday’s in Tribeca!

One of my favorite things about New York, is all of the amazing neighborhoods. Living in Tribeca feels like this quiet pocket where every street has something new and fun to discover. Some of the best boutiques and restaurants are right here, and just across the way from me is one of the best coffee shops in town, Laughing Man. It is a local spot, and every Saturday I find myself spending time there working and people watching.

Boho maxi top

For spring one of my favorite trends are boho inspired maxi tops. This piece from Lulus is perfect for layering when the nights tend to get a little bit chilly. I love the embroidery on the back, as it just adds a cool factor to it.

Rocker tee

Also, festival season is coming up quick, and mixing prints and edgy rocker tees is one of my favorite looks. Right now, you are seeing all kinds of fun t-shirts with cut outs, graphics, and their own distressed feel. This one from Topshop is not only fun but under $25.00. I paired it with a leopard print skirt from Joie to add a little flair.

Embroidered ankle boots

I love to wear ankle boots all year long, especially in the spring with skirts and dresses. Again, when it comes to on trend shoes, you are going to see a lot of embroidery, and graphics this year. A big trend is stars, and this pair from Lulus are perfect for my style. They are still simple, yet will make a statement with almost any look.

Eclectic style bag

This whole look has its own mix master feel to it, and when done right, you can put almost any prints together, especially when you are going for a rock star look. Adding this eclectic style bag from Steve Madden just felt right to bring the whole look together. Not only that, you can wear it cross body which is great for walking around concerts and the city!
