Stepping up my Spring Fashion Game!

So it is that time of the year when I have several brunches, showers, and dressier events that are coming up. I love to keep it casual cool, with pieces that can go either way. When you invest in a few key pieces, you certainly can mix and match them throughout the season. I fell in love with these pants from Hiptique by the label CAMI. If there ever were a pant that screamed my name, these would be it. They are high-waisted, feel like butter, and can be paired for a night out or a casual day with a sweater and kicks.

This label also makes a killer silk bodysuit, which are my new go to. This whole looks is perfect for a dressy event, and pairing a cool bandana scarf with it makes it even more on trend. What I love about this top, is it looks just as cool with distressed denim and a trendy belt.

The Amy Surplice Silk Charmeuse Bodysuit

These white boots were made for walking, and dancing. I cannot believe that I never thought I could pull these off, and have worn them more then any other boot in my closet! It is not too late to invest, and this pair from Jessica Simpson, available at Nordstrom are going to be just as killer with some shorts this season.

Lyndy Slouch Boot for spring

I am in love with little two piece numbers that go together as a dressier piece, and can be super casual on their own. Lisa Marie Fernandez makes some killer bathing suits, and her new line of clothing is just as cool. Definitely invest in an off the shoulder top this season, and pair it with denim and skirts like I did here. I also will be paring that bodysuit above with this skirt and either kicks or some cool heels.

I love any type of woven bag for spring/summer. This piece from L Space Swim available at Hiptique as well, is the perfect size. I take it out to brunches, to the beach, and also while shopping the local farmers market. It is definitely vacation approved as well! Cheers to spring and the time of year when I really feel like you can take so many key pieces through the summer and mix them up however you choose.

Surfs Up in Cali!

Well spring is pretty much here! The weather is starting to get warmer, and the days are finally longer. I love living at the beach, and this is one of my favorite times of year. The days feel perfect, but the nights are still cool enough to throw on a jacket. As we know, I am all about a fun tee, mixed with well…the unexpected. These high-waisted pants from Hiptique are absolutely so adorable. They have just the cutest little floral print on them, but the shape is still more masculine. I love mixing it with this California tee, and adding a denim jacket at night. I am all about some major sneakers this spring, and there are drops galore. I definitely have about five pairs on my radar now, and that is not even the beginning!

How cute are these mint Reebok’s from DSW? I love that you can find so many great pairs of kicks for the right price there. Not to mention, I always carry a little purse filled with my favorite makeup when I am running around town, and this one from Hiptique as well, makes me smile!

Making a weekend trip easy breezy!

When it comes to getting away for the weekend, I really try to bring pieces that I can mix and match so that my suitcase stays somewhat organized. Lately it seems that I am on a plane every other weekend or so, and making my fashion and beauty routine simple is a must. Sticking to a color palette that works across the board, is always a good idea. I also keep my makeup and nighttime routine very minimal and stick with the basics ( I mean you can always buy something if needed).

Trendy graphic tee for weekend trip

This whole look from J.Crew is fun, on trend, and so comfortable for travel. I usually add a jean jacket for the plane, as I always get cold. One thing I love about this graphic tee, is that you can wear it with a pair of jeans, a maxi skirt, or layer a leather jacket over it and make it into several looks. I usually pack two fun ones with me to wear.

colorful clutch

When it comes to bags, I like to make it easy. I found this colorful clutch from J.Crew that can also be thrown into my bigger tote for the day as a wallet. Anytime you can use one bag for the night it really helps with space. Mixing and matching patterns is big so go for it when it comes to this trend.

Leopard print pants

It is all about the lightweight pants. I can’t stand to be uncomfortable when I travel, and once the weather is nicer, linen pants work so well for me. How cool are these leopard print ones from J.Crew? For the night, I will add my nude pump and a cool blouse for a dinner date. Once again, I try to pack a fun pair that can be worn several ways over the weekend. Of course I always pack one jean in my suitcase as well!

New Balance sneakers for the weekend

Well shoes seem to be my hardest struggle when I pack. I simply want to bring ten pairs of sneakers with me, I mean who doesn’t? These New Balance kicks are perfect. Since they are full of color and very comfortable, they go with all my looks. Now all I simply need to pack are my running shoes, and one pump for the evening.

Baby-G watch

I used to never wear a watch, or maybe it was that they all didn’t work! These days I seem to be running all over, and knowing that I forget my charger half of the time, I like to make sure I have on a timepiece. Lately I have been into fun and sporty ones, like this dusty rose Baby G from Nordstrom. It is not very expensive, water resistant, and totally fun. Remember, keep it simple, have fun with wardrobe and mix and match to make your travel weekend easy!

What to Wear to a Spring Wedding!

It is that time of year again already. It seems like with a blink of an eye, wedding season is upon us once again. I have three coming up this season, and like most women I want to look fabulous on a budget. With so many fun options, I like to stand out with fun color either in the dress itself, like this amazing yellow lace piece from Nordstrom or in a detailed accessory.

Spring wedding romper

This Christian Dior bag from The Real Real was a steal. If you are like me, I love to find designer items on a budget. This site is amazing for that, and this purse is not only fun, but definitely has fun pops of color whether you pair it with a bold dress, or a simple black number for a dressier wedding.

Two of the weddings I will be attending are in California, and the nights always cool off. Instead of bringing along a pashmina, I like to do something a bit more playful and unexpected. This soft suede Blank NYC jacket Is perfect. The color is gorgeous, and it goes right along with my personality. A long duster coat would also be a perfect addition to many dresses.

Long silk dresses and trending accessories!

It is that time of year again when the maxi dress returns!  If you know me well, I tend to live in these during the Spring and Summer, either with my sneakers or booties. From bright poppy florals, to subdued prints like this piece from L’Agence their easy to throw on and get out the door quickly. For work days, I like to sticking to dresses that have sleeves, but for the night, a fun strapless dress is my go to.

Maxi dress

There is something about the warm weather that makes me want to play around with accessories a bit more. Maybe all the layering of coats, scarves, and gloves has me a bit tired, so the second I get to showcase bags and jewelry, I get really excited. One thing that I love, is you can now find a ton of fun and on trend items for under $50. I tend to pick up a handful of these key items, and mix and match them. I am dying for all of the fun bags this season with floral and funky prints, like this one from Topshop. Mixing patterns is a favorite of mine. Check out some picks below!

Fashion watch

Okay, so we all need a great staple watch in our lives, but I love seeing some cool ones on the fly for under $50. Thanks to fast fashion, you can find a couple fun ones like the above piece from H&M that don’t have to last forever. I love to layer my watches with a bunch of bangles as well when I don’t have sleeves. Also, try something new in a bandana this season. I am totally a necklace girl, and this trend is fun to play around with. Again, try mixing and matching, that always makes a look more playful. Some more of my favs are below!

Zappos taupe bootie

Of course we know I love my sneakers, but an easy taupe bootie is a must in every wardrobe. I mean it practically goes with everything that you own. This pair from Zappos couldn’t be more comfortable, and if you can believe they too are under $50! Check out some other ones that will not break the bank, and I have test driven them all on the streets, and these four are all comfortable. As they wear in the taupe looks more vintage like, which adds a cool factor to any outfit!
