Okay so the weekend is here, and I cannot believe that summer is almost over. Of course I have blown through about five pairs of shades. My problem is that I tend to throw them around, lose them while biking or boating, or just leave them in a hotel room while I am traveling. So needless to say, I am here to give you a run down of my favorite pairs for under $50 today.
Besides that, this summer has been full of new kicks that I am wearing a lot. When it comes to that, lets just say, keeping them clean is definitely not easy. So when I came across Sneaker Lab I was in heaven. Their products make keeping sneakers clean super easy.
I have been living in my favorite white Nike Air Huarache’s, and these Sk8 Hi red Vans. What I love about Sneaker Lab, is their products refresh and restore sneakers with little environmental impact. My favorite products are the sneaker wipes and the premium kit. I tend to not wear socks so the odor protector is a total go to in the summer, and nothing is as easy as keeping the soles white then the wipes.
When it comes to summer shades, the aviator is always my go to. My favorite pair ever is from Nordstrom. They are a dark shade of black and they are only $14.00. The brass plum section of the store always has fun and easy shades that are all less then $25.00. Now for me that is a score since I cannot seem to keep a pair for longer then a few weeks without losing them.
From old skool kicks to fun new finds, this past month I found myself rocking a little of both. This past year, I partnered up with Happy Socks, and let me tell you they will make your feet dance. They have such a fun assortment of socks and underwear that are not only cozy but make a statement when you wear them. I love the retro polka dot feel of the spring collection below, and so I found it fitting to break out my favorite checkered Vans for summer. This skate shoe has been around forever, and is still one of my favorites.
Speaking of throwing it back, the Vans Sk8 hi-low sneaker in all white is also a favorite of mine. They are affordable, cool, and definitely make my look a little more cool. Adidas has also made such a fun comeback with their “originals” this past year, and I haven’t met a color I didn’t like! This taupe gazelle is off the chart. It is the absolute perfect color to go with everything in my wardrobe.
When it comes to new snekaers that have been dropped, the technology continues to grow for sneaker companies, and they are making it harder and harder to chose a pair! I found this new adidas Tubular in pink. They are blending the past with the future by redefining sportswear for the street, taking inspiration from an iconic 93 runner. The Nike City Knife 3 Flyknit Sneaker, actually is a foldable and packable sneaker, and let me tell you for traveling it speaks to me. The colors are so fly as well, I feel like super girl when I wear these.
A little bit of fun design plus all white sneakers were just another added bonus. These new Nike Air Huarache SE remind me of wearing denim on denim. They are trendy and fun, and litearally are also so comfortable. For me, when it comes to brunching, I love mixing a fun long skirt with a preppy pair of white sneakers. These Tretorn for J.Crew do just that. I also will pair them with all my fun Fourth of July looks coming up.

I am not going to lie, I have always been a fan of a great vintage rock tee. I casually live in them all summer long because they are easy and fun. Mixing and matching them for day to night is super easy. I have been obsessed with Madeworn, an L.A. based line that has been killing the game. Their pieces all feel worn in, and I will be rocking this Blondie tee with my denim shorts in the day, and then with cool pants at night.
OBSESSED with these high-waisted pants from DVF. I had a pair several years ago that I wore into the ground, and the moment I spied these at Saks Fifth Avenue, they were in my shopping bag. What I love about a high-waisted pant, especially in the summer is that you can really show off your waist by tucking tanks and tees into them. The color of these is amazing, so different then most you will find, and also adds a vintage feel to them. The material is easy and breezy, so they will be perfect for summer nights.
Two of my favorite accessory designers are Rebecca Minkoff and Kendra Scott, both available at Nordstrom. I love a big and bold cuff in the summer, and this one from Kendra Scott is available in gold, silver, and rose gold. So it pretty much goes with any and everything. What makes it a good investment piece, is can be edgy with a look like this, or timeless for a more dressy affair.
The must have summer color. I don’t even know how to describe the color of these adidas Gazelles. They are almost like a smoky grey, and let me say they go with everything. I own so many all white and colorful ones, that these are a bit different then the usual. Make sure to pick up any of the Gazelle’s this summer, as they are on a big comeback tour!
Well, it wouldn’t be a new season without another ten pairs or more of sneakers. Yes my friends, I am a Sneaker Head these days, and I have no problem with it. One of my favorite sites is Sole Collector. They are constantly keeping up with the greatest and coolest collaborations that are coming out. One huge player this month is Nikelab who is releasing three special collaborations on Nike Air Max Day. These will drop on March 26th, and the one above from Marc Newson, a NikeLab industrial designer, has my name all over it. Read the WWD article here to find out more.
For me, it is all about switching it up. Old skool favorites of the past are certainly having a comeback. Adidas has relaunched their Stan Smith and Gazelles better then ever. They definitely feel edgy mixed with ripped jeans and a leather jacket. Most of the companies are seeing that redefining some of the classics is always a good thing.
Another big trend in running shoes, like these Nike kicks, are flecks of iridescent and metallic. From rose gold accents to a full silver shoe, you will be seeing quite a bit of this. Also, sequins has made a comeback, so don’t shy away from that trend. I suggest toning down the rest of your look so the sneaker shines!
I am not one to shy away from wearing the men’s sneakers because I am able to, but a lot of companies, such as Van’s, are now doing unisex shoes. This is great, because their high top skate shoe has long been a favorite of mine. Not to mention you cannot go wrong with their checkered slip on ever.
Converse and Reebok are also making strides by adding fun patterns and lots of pastels to their sneakers. You will also see these two companies bringing back what has worked for years. Don’t be afraid this season to play with something funky, whether it be florals, hearts, fun patterns, or full on Easter egg colors. Whatever look you choose, it will be hard, as you can see my heart is fluttering for all!
Well if there isn’t something about being in New York City. Every direction that you turn you stumble across new neighborhoods and streets. When I set out to shoot this week, I knew I wanted to find a beautiful cobblestone street filled with walk ups. It only took a few blocks from the neatest coffee shop Kava Café, located in the Meatpacking area, to find what I was looking for. The weather was chilly, so it made for the perfect day to throw on a scarf and hat.
This season I have been all about the pom pom beanie. They are fun and functional, meaning warmth is key here. This cute one I found at J.Crew, and it was easy to pair with my simple scarf from Nordstrom. Since the whole look has a lot of pattern going on, I wanted to keep the scarf pretty minimal.
One of my favorite brands for sweaters is Vince. They are a little more expensive, but I usually wait until I can find the line on sale. The blue and white stripes are a pattern that will never go out of style, and once we get to the early days of Spring I will pair some simple khaki shorts with it.
Little known secret, L.L.Bean makes one of the best tote bags I have ever purchased. Their boat and tote pieces come in a variety of sizes and colors. They last for years, and let me tell you mine has seen planes, trains, and automobiles many times over. This hunter camouflage version is my favorite. Oh, and by the way, they are all under $100 and they monogram them as well!
These sneakers! Thank you Adidas for making my month! Not only do I love to mix patterns, but the pop of blue and the floral details have me singing out for Spring to come. There is an inside wedge to give you just a little pep in your step. One of the things I love about this look, is that it feels fun. The Camo mixed with florals and stripes all works. One of my favorite style tips is try for something unexpected to change things up. For me, a super cool kick is the way to go!
