I know, it has been awhile since I have thrown up a blog post, and how I miss writing. Things have been so hectic, that I have yet to sit down for any chunks of time. I am so excited to tell you that I am cranking out the YouTube videos the next month, so stay tuned for all kinds of cool content. That being said, my sneaker game is continuing to grow, and right now, there are so many that I am lusting after for summer. Here are my favorites, and the fun ways to pair them!
I am minorly obsessed with middie all white clean kicks. These Nike pair are perfect with just about anything, but I love pairing them with a cool silk pantsuit like this one from Rebecca Taylor available at Hiptique!
When it comes to denim dresses, I love something that is a little bit flirty, like this piece from McGuire available at Nordstrom. When pairing it with shoes for summer, I added a fun touch with some cool camo vans that are always going to be fun all year long.
When it comes to jumpsuits, I live in them all summer as well, and this 1901 khaki piece is super cute and fun with any shoe. I cranked it up a notch with some cool Yeezy black on black 500’s.
These are my first pair, and I hope to continue to collect them each season. Stay tuned, more great sneakers and videos are coming your way, and a reminder to follow me on the Like to Know it App, to shop all of these looks.
Yes it is the winter, and yes I am on a pastel sneaker kick right now! This time last year, I was buried under the snow in NYC wearing my snow boots and rain boots all over the city. I do admit, we have had our fair share of winter days in Cali, but really, we can usually wear sneakers year around. To switch it up, I love to find fun and girly athleisure pieces, and right now we are seeing a big trend of pastel sneakers. This I am totally okay with, that small pop of mint or pink makes me smile, and pulling a whole look together just feels happy at this time of the year.
First things first, these Nike Air Max 95 LX kicks are just really dope. I found them at the NIKE X Nordstrom pop up, and they are quickly becoming one of my new favorite sneakers yet. You know that you have found a gem when you get stopped on the street frequently with these on. My birthday is coming up, and I am contemplating wearing them out dancing! Thoughts? As we all know, throwing on a baseball hat is easy for me, and this two tone denim number from Nordstrom feels so 90’s to me.
I have kind of been living in sweatshirts because this cool girl trend makes me feel like it is totally okay. Whether it be from adidas or Nike with a logo, or just easy and plain like this piece from Topshop they are fully on trend. Again, in the spring it will be perfect with my denim shorts and these same kicks.
I am quickly becoming a big fan of changing my leggings from plain jane to having logos or a fun print all over them. These Nike joggers from Macy’s are not only super comfortable, but are kinda just perfect for lounging around the house at night as well. For errands, we know I cannot deal with a big bag half of the time, and this cute and simple gold purse from Nordstrom is under $30 and looks just as great with a little black dress.
Now go out and find a pair of pastel kicks that you love, my recommendations are below!
Boom, the boot is back and stronger then ever. If you are looking for a sneaker for those kick lovers out there, I have you covered. From super cool to girly, you are sure to find one for everyone out there. I have long been a fan of the Nike Air Force One and these military inspired boots are outrageous and funky! If you need something unique, these are them for sure. They come in a handful of colors too!
For the retro lover, these throwback vintage inspired Nike’s are legit. They just relaunched and these are selling out quick. I love to pair mine with a simple denim and cool jacket.
For the exercise queen, these adidas iniki running shoe feels like your running on air. I love how they mold to your foot, and I literally can run, cross train, and wear them to yoga!
For the adidas originals fan, and for the more girly girl, pastel kicks are perfect. I have been wearing gazelle’s since I was young, and these baby pink pair are not only super affordable, but any girl will love these. I mean they even go with a cute dress!
If you are looking for a classic, then look no further then the checker Vans. These became an instant must have sneaker in the skate world years ago, and they have never gone out of style! Also, these too are a great affordable gift.
Last, for the cold weather, why not try the Nike Roshe two knitfly hi kick. It is made for the colder weather and is super unique. Plus it is on steep sale right now, so run and pick a pair up for the holidays!
Okay so the weekend is here, and I cannot believe that summer is almost over. Of course I have blown through about five pairs of shades. My problem is that I tend to throw them around, lose them while biking or boating, or just leave them in a hotel room while I am traveling. So needless to say, I am here to give you a run down of my favorite pairs for under $50 today.
Besides that, this summer has been full of new kicks that I am wearing a lot. When it comes to that, lets just say, keeping them clean is definitely not easy. So when I came across Sneaker Lab I was in heaven. Their products make keeping sneakers clean super easy.
I have been living in my favorite white Nike Air Huarache’s, and these Sk8 Hi red Vans. What I love about Sneaker Lab, is their products refresh and restore sneakers with little environmental impact. My favorite products are the sneaker wipes and the premium kit. I tend to not wear socks so the odor protector is a total go to in the summer, and nothing is as easy as keeping the soles white then the wipes.
When it comes to summer shades, the aviator is always my go to. My favorite pair ever is from Nordstrom. They are a dark shade of black and they are only $14.00. The brass plum section of the store always has fun and easy shades that are all less then $25.00. Now for me that is a score since I cannot seem to keep a pair for longer then a few weeks without losing them.
Every summer in Las Vegas, the NBA puts on a display like you have never seen. What started over a decade ago by Warren Legaire, with the help of my father who is a seasoned NBA coach, has turned into the must be place of the summer. Young players and rookies come out to play with their respected NBA teams and it is a place to watch all of the amazing young talent. This year was a whole different level for me, as I had several meetings during the week, for both design and social media.
Celtics and Lakers Matchup
On day one, the entire Thomas and Mack arena was sold out, and people were waiting outside to get in. The first matchup between the Celitcs and the Lakers was crazy. If you are watching hoops, you know that Lonzo Ball, who was drafted by the Lakers, is a person to watch, and the fans came out screaming.
Not only that, it is a place for every agent, coach, owner, and front office to come together once a year to watch and scout talent. It is so fun, as 25 years with my dad coaching in the league, I know so many people and love chatting about who are the people and teams to watch. Here is pictured above showing plays to young coaches during one of the Milwuakee Bucks practices.
Also, it has hit the media hard. Both NBA TV and TNT broadcasters are out interviewing. NBA TV now broadcasts all of summer league on television as well as ESPN. The crew from The Starters did a great live set each day interviewing players.
Besides young players, pretty much every major NBA player shows up sometime during the week. Two of my favorite sightings were John Wall and of course Lebron James. Being in Vegas, it is the perfect place to come out, go out at night, and have a little fun while watching hoops.
