Well summer is quickly coming to an end, and it is that time of year again where I start thinking about some cool light jackets. For me, that means some cool girl vibes with a track jacket. What I love is that you can mix it up with some denim shorts and sneakers, and when the weather is cooler simply throw on a cool maxi skirt to make more edgy. Of course, It is also perfect with any workout leggings to head to a workout. With the Nordstrom Anniversary sale coming to an end, I picked out a few of my favorite ones to still get now.
I love the style of the adidas bomber jacket above! They also have a pretty cool new Neoprene Tubular out that will be perfect for all of fall and winter!
Athleisure is on trend, and lets be real it is here to stay! Of course this makes me so happy as it it totally my vibe. I love to mix up workout gear with cool and edgy pieces to really nail the trend. Wide leg crop pants are in this season, and these faux leather ones from Topshop are both edgy and fun. I will wear them with a heel and a great blouse, but they are even cooler with a fun top like this adidas crop.
As you know, I am a total fan of leopard print anything, and when H&M made a ball cap in this design it was all mine. Look for fun patterns all over in caps this season. From floral prints, leather, and suede, it is a big trend. The bolder the print, the more fun you can make an outfit.
Reebok and Adidas, who are under the same umbrella now, are making more and more fun sneakers and watches. This metallic pair almost looks like an orange sorbet in person, making them totally different then anything I have. This camo Adidas watch is not only different, but it is unique enough that you can wear it with a great dress to mix up a look.
What I love about this look, is that it is super comfortable. I love that the pants are easy to sit in.The crop top is totally comfy and cozy for the spring weather, since it is not yet totally warm here in NYC. Again, these shoes are like walking on air, and I can go all day in them.
Kiss my Airs! If you have some free time, head over to Nike iD and look at all their cool totes and pieces that you can make on your own. I love to carry a fun bag to the grocery store or farmers market. I was lucky enough to attend the Nike Air Max event in NYC, where I custom designed this fun piece. It is playful and fun, and that makes me always put a little more pep in my step!
Well, it wouldn’t be a new season without another ten pairs or more of sneakers. Yes my friends, I am a Sneaker Head these days, and I have no problem with it. One of my favorite sites is Sole Collector. They are constantly keeping up with the greatest and coolest collaborations that are coming out. One huge player this month is Nikelab who is releasing three special collaborations on Nike Air Max Day. These will drop on March 26th, and the one above from Marc Newson, a NikeLab industrial designer, has my name all over it. Read the WWD article here to find out more.
For me, it is all about switching it up. Old skool favorites of the past are certainly having a comeback. Adidas has relaunched their Stan Smith and Gazelles better then ever. They definitely feel edgy mixed with ripped jeans and a leather jacket. Most of the companies are seeing that redefining some of the classics is always a good thing.
Another big trend in running shoes, like these Nike kicks, are flecks of iridescent and metallic. From rose gold accents to a full silver shoe, you will be seeing quite a bit of this. Also, sequins has made a comeback, so don’t shy away from that trend. I suggest toning down the rest of your look so the sneaker shines!
I am not one to shy away from wearing the men’s sneakers because I am able to, but a lot of companies, such as Van’s, are now doing unisex shoes. This is great, because their high top skate shoe has long been a favorite of mine. Not to mention you cannot go wrong with their checkered slip on ever.
Converse and Reebok are also making strides by adding fun patterns and lots of pastels to their sneakers. You will also see these two companies bringing back what has worked for years. Don’t be afraid this season to play with something funky, whether it be florals, hearts, fun patterns, or full on Easter egg colors. Whatever look you choose, it will be hard, as you can see my heart is fluttering for all!
Happy New Years everyone! I literally have become obsessed with all things sneakers, and the past 12 months were pretty solid. It certainly wasn’t easy to pick my favorite ones of the year, but I have a list of those that knocked my socks off!
Next year, I expect more amazing collaborations to be coming out, and I will definitely be showing them off through the blog for you. Sit back and enjoy, and don’t forget to run out and buy a couple pairs of these kicks!
But first, lets not forget about the Nike Mag and the future of tennis shoes. It took Nike 27 years to finally make a real, auto-lacing Nike Mag and they were only able to create 100 pairs. The majority of them were given away in a raffle, with the rest being auctioned. There were more than a few folks who were willing to break the bank to get the sneaker of their dreams.
There is nothing I love more than leopard print. Along with my small obsession with sneakers, leopard patterns have always been a favorite of mine. These days between jobs and meetings, I have found myself running all over town. There is nothing more playful, especially here in Los Angeles than mixing a sexier piece with a pair of tennis shoes.
When I saw this A.L.C. leopard print piece, I knew I was in love. The satin bomber is so on trend, and animal prints are big for Spring as well. It screams fun, and can be worn in so many different ways depending on how playful you want to be.
I am loving crop tops right now, but I like to wear them mixed under a jacket or with something high-waisted. This adorable velvet piece from Bella goes great under this piece. I am usually a maxi skirt or jean girl, but I jumped out of my shell when I saw the color of this A.L.C. skirt. From a simple white tee to a beautiful burgundy blouse, this skirt will make a statement.
When it comes to handbags, the majority that I own are cross-body. I love being able to wear it across my body for the day, and then usually at night more loosely on my shoulder. This black studded bag from Clio has been in my rotation for weeks. The black leather is gorgeous and the studs add a little rock star quality to it.
And then there are these kicks. I have just recently seen all of the Reebok classics making a strong comeback. This Reebok x FACE Stockholm pair are insane, and were pretty much perfect with this fun look. Rose gold is huge right now, and is continuing on through the spring. Lets be real, these will be worn with everything!
