Grungy Gentleman A/W 2017 Collection
One of my favorite things about being in the city is that fashion week happens two times a year. Last week many of the A/W 2017 men’s collections were shown, and one of the killer lines I got to check out was Grungy Gentleman. This season, they went a step further and launched a collaboration with the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers. Not only did I get to sit in the front row, but I was lucky enough to meet the mastermind behind the collection Jace Lipstein.

Grungy Gentleman is a New York based lifestyle brand that creates an innovative culture where fashion, sports, and entertainment converge. It promotes individuality in both high fashion and urban culture making it stand apart. The pieces for A/W definitely were on trend feeling fashion forward with just the right mix of Athleisure mixed in. The collaboration pieces for both the Knicks and the Rangers had a swag to them that sets them apart from most of the products out there. Just the small details in each piece felt fun and unique.

Another really cool part of the show was the custom shoes made with Timberland. I personally want a pair, of course. They each added another element to each look, and as a whole made the show even more cohesive.

Jace Lipstein has been in the design game for years, starting out doing a collaboration with the rapper Nas. His line has come from just a few pieces to a full collection that is now in its sixth season. Growing up in NYC, he has always been a huge Knicks and Rangers fan, and so it was only a matter of time before a natural collaboration was born. The pieces have a more luxury feel to them, which is perfect for the New York demographic. I can’t wait to see what season two has to offer!
