Since her launch of Karen Zambos in 1999, this designer has reinvented the allure of bohemian charm with new levels of ease and sophistication. She began experimenting in reconstruction by gathering vintage pieces and re-working them for a more contemporary look. I first came across her line at a small boutique in Los Angeles. Right away her line spoke to me with its modern yet California feel to it. The print of this beautiful maxi dress is spot on for fall. It almost has a waterfall effect of autumn colors.
When it comes to a long maxi dress, I like to play if up and make it a little more edgy with a fun accessory like this B-Lowthebelt. Their belts have a fun vintage vibe to them, and it cinches the dress in just enough to add a great waistline. During this time of year, I find that a neutral clutch like this grey one from Lulu’s goes with just about everything I wear. The small fringe detail gives it a little added punch.
One of my style tips, is that when you have a printed dress and a bolder accessory, go light with anything else. I simply added my favorite small Gorjana pendant to this look. It goes with everything and won’t distract or overpower the look.
Once again, my favorite Report boots are on rotation. These babies go with everything, and the block heel is on trend. The small metallic touch in them completes the whole look from head to toe.
One of my favorite shops and on-line boutiques to find spot on pieces is Nasty Gal. Their free standing store in Santa Monica is beautiful, and each season they curate a small handful of up and coming lines, as well as do their own in-house design. Much of what they focus on are pieces that you can’t find anywhere else.
I spent a few hours last week finding some great new pieces for Fall. The fun thing with California is we can wear sleeveless pieces a little but longer. This Nightwalker dress is spot on for a night out. The ruffle details are fun and flirty, and the cut out makes it my style with a little bit of edge. I love florals for fall, especially against the black fabric.
Another staple in my wardrobe year around is a maxi skirt. In the summer a simple tank does the trick, but as the weather gets a little cooler an off the shoulder piece, like this one from Glamorous, adds a little sexiness. The colors of this skirt from Nightwalker scream autumn weather to me. I have an amazing leather coat from Nasty Gal that will mix in with this just perfectly when it cools off even more.
For a night out, their high-waisted denim has constantly been in my rotation these days. If you are looking for one great piece to pair with this type of jean, a bodysuit like this one from Lavish Alice makes it easy. I decided to make it a little sexier with the cool cut out design, but a simple one with a great belt is just as cute too.
This past week I spent a decent amount of time exploring downtown Los Angeles. There are so many new galleries, restaurants, and shops all within a few blocks of one another. The Broad and Grand Central Market are a must on a weekend. The Ace hotel is my favorite for a bite during the week.
On Thursday, I headed downtown to explore new places to catch football, and although the Steelers were not playing, I still wanted to wear my on trend satin bomber jacket. This style is everywhere for fall, and I love showing my NFL Fan Style by wearing it any day of the week.

Downtown has become quite hip, so it was fun to pair it with a striped tee and a cool corduroy skirt. I simply added my new shades, and a chunky ankle boot. This jacket is easy to make playful and trendy, which is one thing that I love about all of the NFL gear. You can always simply rock it with jeans, but it is fun to explore ways to mix it up.
This Fall, the huge selection of denim styles may include the best styles you’ve seen in a while. From the tried-and-true favorites to the high fashion trends, the washes and treatments are next level and also very wearable. Set your sights on a new pair with a style and fit that hugs you in all the right places. Don’t be afraid to jump out of your comfort zone a bit with patchwork or fun embroidery.
I am still loving all things high-waisted and 70’s inspired like this Mcguire denim pair available at Hiptique. I will be wearing them with all of my bodysuits and layering up for fall with a great jacket.
One of my favorite things about New York City is that you can wine and dine in any neighborhood. I find a great restaurant on almost every corner, and I never get tired of exploring new places. I found a cute little wine bar down in Tribeca where I am staying for happy hour.
This Alice and Olivia romper is perfect for the hot city nights. It can transition from day with a simple sandal to a great piece for the night paired with a wedge like this from Dolce Vita . Of course, I threw on my favorite choker from Chan Luu.
