Last Sunday, I decided to take the day to do some fun filming around my hood. What makes this post so fun for me, is that not only did we go into six hours of random shooting, I got to do it with two of my favorite people. One of the things about shooting content, it is so important to do it with people that make you feel great, test you, give you feedback, and can drink a bottle of wine with you! True life of a blogger.
Some of my favorite things are basketball courts, beachs, and palm trees! Yep, I know this is silly, but these things feel like home. The courts in Venice make me smile when I walk by, so doing a shot there is only fitting. On top of that add some kicks and a long flowy dress, and I am the happiest girl in the world.
One of my favorite shopping destinations, is Abbot Kinney, and this street is full of fun boutiques and amazing restaurants. What I love, is that local artists are constantly doing fun art on walls that make for fun background shots. This adidas jacket is reversible, and fit right in. Who does not love a huge pop of color for spring!
Who does not love the Santa Monica Pier. We did a pit stop for lunch at Shutters of course, and then decided that riding the roller coaster behind was a great idea. If you are looking for something different this spring, try a denim bootie, these from Dolce Vita are a huge hit and are absolutely amazing and fun! Also, nothing like a good braid and a fun “peachy” tee for the win!
The last stop of the day was the Hotel Erwin. They have an amazing rooftop perfect for wine and the sunset. On our way, we found the cutest alley. So naturally stopped for a shot. That is what I love about my neighborhood, there is something around every corner!
Well the weather is finally cooling off, and it is definitely time to start bringing out my boots and long sleeve sweaters. What I love about Cali, is that you can wear a long maxi skirt all year round as well as a fun jumpsuit. My go to for meetings is a casual jumper like this J.Crew piece. It is chic, yet still easy to wear.
This silk top from A.L.C. available at Saks is gorgeous. This whole look is perfect for a cocktail event, and if the weather tends to get chilly, I will throw on a cool suede moto jacket to keep it on the daring side. I have always been obsessed with maxi skirts, and you can find them from places like H&M to Nordstrom. I chose this white, because it is so pretty, and can be played up and down. For the day, I will simply add a nice chunky sweater to mix it up.
When it comes to accessories, this silk top needed a fun necklace like this Kendra Scott piece from Nordstrom. I also just added on my fun neutral clutch from Lulu’s to keep it streamlined. As for the jumpsuit, I feel a bit 70’s so I paired it with this fun sunglasses from the B.P. section at Nordstrom. They are only $12.00 and the bit of purple is super cool!
We all know I am a sneaker girl at heart, and I love love pairing Chuck Taylor’s with my maxi skirts. It keeps it fun and not too girly. As for this jumpsuit, it is time to break out some of my favorite booties, and I love the neutral color of these ones from Seychelles. Both of these are available at Nordstrom as well, and this brand is so comfortable I can wear them all day and into the night.
I can’t believe that I have literally been in NYC for over six months! Well technically I feel like I am traveling all over for work as well, but calling the Big Apple home has been an unreal experience. This weekend is my last here for a few months, as I am headed back to Cali and Portland for some really cool projects involving the NBA. I also will be spending a chunk of time in Las Vegas for NBA Summer League, so stay tuned for some exciting things there as well.
I am totally obsessed with this two piece number from Lulu’s. It is bright and cheery, and totally summer appropriate for a brunch here with friends. I simply added a trendy western style belt and fun fringe bag from Lulu’s as well. They always nail such fun and trendy looks, and their price points are amazing. Of course my summer shoe of choice is a worn in Converse Chuck Taylor. They go with me everywhere and are super comfy and cool.

We all know that my style is an everyday mix more on the playful tomboy side of things. That doesn’t mean I don’t love to play dress up now and then, and this season for me, it is all about the ruffle details. This trend is fun, and can be seen from casual tees to gorgeous flowy dresses (hint my spring wedding dress guide is coming). Whether you keep it casual like I did with this cute striped top from J.Crew, or go for a fun off the shoulder blouse, make sure to add this trend to your spring list.
Bold necklaces, especially tortoise shell, are also making a comeback. The choker trend is still going strong, but I love to add a big standout piece to a simple shirt like this cool piece from J.Crew as well. If you are wearing your hair up, and are showing off your shoulders, try a fun bold earring instead.
Check out some of my favorite ruffle blouses below. Make sure to find one that suits your style from simple to funky!
Well if they say April showers bring May flowers I will take it. It has been slightly rainy for the past few days, and that makes me wishing even more for sunny skies and lighter clothing. My winter boots have taken more of a beating this season between the snow, slush, and rain, and to be honest I am ready to let them retire.
This past shoot, we decided to play with the mood and do some cool shots in black and white and color. The denim look was perfect for this, and every once in awhile it is fun to be creative and shoot a bit differently. Every season I purchase the same straw hat from J.Crew because it goes with everything from the beach to a night out. Like I said before, I am switching up some of those chokers for bandanas to add some new life into my accessories as well. I love this simple one from Nordstrom.
The whole look is playful and fun, and definitely screams warmer weather and spring time. There are all kinds of concerts in the park, brunches, and happy hours that inspired this look for me. I simply paired a white tank top from Madwell this time around, but a fun concert tee could edge it up even more.
If you buy one simple jacket for Spring/Summer, make it denim like this cool crop from J.Crew. I have three different styles, but I am loving that this is a lighter wash than I am used to. What is great about a piece like this, you can pair it with almost anything in your wardrobe. White pants are a must for me as well. I have several great simple pairs, so I decided to find a fun eyelet pair like these from Wayf. Depending on your body type you can find a great high-waisted pair or go for a clean white denim.
Oxfords and loafer style shoes are a must this season. I am digging anything metallic and this pair from Topshop are under $100! They look expensive and are super comfortable. I am totally ready to ditch my boots for this slides to hit the town running.
