Traveling in Style During the Holidays!

Well, the holidays are here, and if you are like me, that means planes, planes, and automobiles. I am off today for Las Vegas, then taking off again on Wednesday for an NBA game, and will be flying back on turkey day, followed by a turnaround right back to Los Angeles on Friday. Yes, this is the time that traveling can be super stressful on us, but I am here to give you my simple tips to stay sane all the way through Jan. 1st!

Traveling in style with this sweater

My number one for traveling is being comfortable, cozy, but yet fashionable. Let me be honest, I love my sweats, but for the plane, I like to make sure that I feel put together. You never know who you are going to meet. For me, I am all about a great sweater like this one from Smythe, available at Hiptique. It is soft, and also keeps me warm on the flight.

My favorite travel sweaters are below.

I also like to wear a simple pant or legging with a pair of sneakers. I hate having to take off too many layers in security, and sometimes boots are hard to get on and off. Also, I always try to keep my bags to a carry on, and then bring a second tote that I can store my computer in. I know that can be hard with bulky pieces, but if you color coordinate your wardrobe it makes it easy to get through a weekend with just a few pieces. I am obsessed with the Boat and Tote from L.L. Bean, and I have linked a few other of my favorites that have a ton of room!

Last, my skin takes the biggest hit when I travel, even if it is just a quick flight, so I always bring a few items that I know will keep me hydrated. Also, a huge water is always in hand and some great snacks that will keep me from eating anything bad at the airport bar or in flight. I love simple packs of nuts and a good protein bar. I try not to drink alcohol on a flight, as it dehydrates me more. I live for the following products when I am flying.

Comfy and Cozy for the holiday season!

How is the holiday season already here? I mean, it just seemed like yesterday was the Fourth of July. That being said, like most of us, this time of year is one of my favorites. I yearn for nights sitting in front of the fire in my cozy sweats, drinking hot cocoa with my family and friends. There are so many holiday events around this time, that when I don’t have to be dressed up, I love to wear sweat pants that can transition from the couch to real life. One of my favorite brands that I have found is Sundry. Their pieces are always fun, trendy, and super comfy. These starry sweats just put me in the holiday mood, and make a great gift for the females in your life.

Starry sweats

Here in Cali, the weather never dips too low, but in the morning a good sweater and beanie are easy for a coffee run. I can walk to my local shop, so this cool mesh sweatshirt I found at a thrift store is totally my style. Any old piece will work over this tee and bottom combination. I have beanies in every flavor, and I usually just pick them up at Nordstrom in their Brass Blum section for under $25.00!

Good beanie and sweatshirt

One of the things that I love about this look is that it screams casual and fun. Basically it is the I rolled out of bed looking cool look. For me this works while I run errands and for when I just want to sit on the couch. My rule of thumb is to put a cool pair of kicks with the whole look to bring it all together.

Patent leather kicks

Smile in sweats

These Vans are a shiny happy patent leather. I mean look at that smile, which may really be because I get to finally take a breather and spend some time relaxing. These kicks are great, because not only are they super casual, they will take me right into the spring as well. I know it is hard to wrap your mind around that, but I am already thinking of cute denim shorts and a tee with these. Hopefully they will stay clean enough the next few months!

Cheers to the beginning of an amazing and cozy holiday season. Check out my favorite cute and casual sweats that will make everyone’s season merry and bright!

That Healthy Glow!

I wish that I could be honest and say that I had great skin without having to try. Yes, I am a bit jealous of those that are blessed with flawless skin. In my thirties, I have actually had more trouble then ever before. My skin started to change a few years ago, and it became even more oily. This isn’t bad for age, but certainly not good for acne. I also noticed that the dark spots I had were getting worse, and of course those wrinkles were beginning to deepen. This past year with all of the travel my skin was taking a beating, and so I decided to make it important to find a skincare regimen that attacked all of the above. Now let me say it hasn’t been the easiest journey, but I finally feel like my skin is glowing, and my acne is pretty much gone. If I even skip one day of washing my face, I tend to get a zit. So, lately, although a bit lengthy, this has become just as important as working out and eating well.

Skincare Gel cleanser

Below I am sharing my favorite products that I have discovered that will work magic for your skin in any climate or condition. I came across Revive Skincare about a year ago, and I swear that these have changed my life. Their products are a bit on the expensive side, but they truly last a long time, and for me, my skin is an investment so I feel like it is worth it.

I always start my day by cleansing my face with Revive Gel Cleanser. I also use it again at night when I am getting ready for bed.

 Revive Perfectif skincare

Once I am done cleansing in the morning, I put on the Revive Perfectif Even Skin Tone Cream with SPF 30. It is very important to find a moisturizer with SPF, and this is phenomenal in fighting against dark spots. I simply add one small pump of the Revive Perfectif Even Skin Tone Serum. This serum has changed my life, and my complexion. My skin is smooth and even-toned once again.

Revive Intensite Crème Lustre Cream,

When the night rolls around, once I have cleansed my face, I use the Revive Intensite Crème Lustre Cream, which is an intensive firming moisturizer that helps increase elasticity and reduce sagging skin. It is not too heavy, yet feels amazing. I also add one pump of the Revive Moisturizing Renewal Serum, which penetrates deeply into the skin’s surface to boost the renewal process. I notice a difference every morning with these two products.

Revive Moisturizing Renewal Serum

With these four products, I do not feel like I need an eye cream, as both serums and creams target fine lines and wrinkles. Although twice a week I use a mask and a glycolic peel.

Malin + Goetz Resurfacing Glycolic Acid Pads

Malin + Goetz Resurfacing Glycolic Acid Pads are genius. It is the at home equivalent of a glycolic acid peel, just gentler. I use these 2x a week to remove dull skin and promote collagen production. Once a week I use the Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask. It is a fantastic peel-off mask that helps boost skin clarity and minimizes pores. The charcoal removes dirt and impurities and leaves your skin with a healthy glow. I love that way it molds to your skin, you can literally feel your skin tighten when it is on.

It seems like a lot, but to be honest, this regimen has changed my skin. I have most of these products in travel size as well, so that I never skip a day of the proper cleansing routine!

Busy Bees!

Well, this fall has been insanely busy. I feel like I am juggling so many different plates, which is exciting and exhausting at the same time. So many fun projects are in the works, hopefully I can share them with you in the next month or two! One of the things that I love about California weather is that a simple lightweight sweater and cool jeans are usually about all you need this time of year.

lightweight sweater and jeans

For me, staying on time is imperative when you are busy. I was so excited to team up with Daniel Wellington, who make such pretty timepieces. This Classic Petite Ashfield is both dressy and sporty, so I can wear it with everything. If you head to and enter SUZIG at checkout you will get 15% off!

So I am obsessed with all things fun and embellished right now. When I saw these “bee” sneaks from Steve Madden I knew I had to have them, I mean they are just so fun. Nothing reminds me to keep the pep in my step than these shoes, that is for sure.

Polly Bee Embellished Slip-On Platform Sneaker

I am always on the hunt for different types of sweaters that can be dressed up or down for a day on set, or a night out on the town. I love the bell sleeves of this Topshop sweater, because it is super on trend. I’ll wear it with my black leather skirt at night to dress it up.

Bell Sleeved lightweight Sweater

I am still on a high waisted denim kick for fall, these jeans from Good American are more comfy than any I have worn in awhile. I love the idea of distressed ripped jean mixed with a cool sweater like this. Again, these can easily be rocked at night with a cool pump.
