The NFL is back, and once again we are gearing up for some amazing athletic showdowns. Not only that, we cannot dismiss that these players have become their own fashion runway as they walk into the stadium on game day. The NBA might snag most of the spotlight, but this league is quickly boasting its own crop of trendsetters. Players are showcasing their off-field style, dressed up in sleek suits for pre-game arrivals and trips to the post-game podium. Not only are they becoming the men to watch, they are also snagging covers and advertising campaigns for the entertainers they are. I will be keeping up with their fashion this season on the blog. Not to mention, this was one of my favorite looks last season, nothing beats a fun Steelers bomber jacket mixed with boots and a fun skirt for fall!
Here is the list of my fashion MVP’s at the beginning of the NFL season. Cheers to a fun and trendy season, and I look forward to seeing who rises up in my fashion ranks!
Well, this week is going to be long, fun, and exhausting all at once. I am off to New York city for two fun events with the NFL. I cannot wait to show you what I am up to this season, as we only have one more week until this party starts!!!! Can you tell that I am excited? Also, I will be going straight from New York City to Portland Oregon for some basketball and influencer meetings with both adidas and Nike. So stay tuned for some cool stuff this fall.
When I travel, and spend more time on the plane, I love to be comfy. These adidas Ultraboost X sneakers are some of my favorites. They are super comfortable, and I can work out in them. I also have two redeye flights, so being able to feel cute and cozy is a must. I live in my adidas pants in the winter. I usually throw on a hat and comfy sweater that are also on trend. Sundry is one of my favorite lines, and this Here for Halftime sweater is a must. By the way Goorin Brothers makes the cutest hats, so check them out as well.
Below are some of my favorite products for feeling refreshed when you know you will not be getting all of that beauty sleep you need!
I love a great hydrating tinted moisturizer that I can wear on the plane and during the day that is lightweight.
I swear by Rosebud Salve, when you travel. This is good for your cheeks, hands, and of course lips. I use it all over!
My eyes get puffy when I don’t stay hydrated so I always travel on the plane with my Peter Thomas Roth gel mask. It is perfection!
Kiehls is one of my favorite products, I stock up on their lotions. If you know me, my skin is super sensitive, and this herbal acne kit is amazing. I use it more when I travel and take travel sizes on the plane with me.
Being raised in an NBA family, I have spent a good part of my life at sporting events. Athleisure wear has become such a big part of what we wear everyday, so it has become much easier to look cute, while still being comfortable at any type of game.
Now that winter has gone, baseball season and summer sporting events are in full swing. Some may dread it, some may not even realize it’s here, and some may adore it, but regardless which category you fall into, you can’t deny going to a live sports game is beyond entertaining. The camaraderie, the cheering and the superstitious game-day-rituals make all sports events exciting. Whether you’re a super fan, or just a spectator, I will make sure you’re dressed and ready to go for any sports game.
Know The Venue
Is this an outdoor stadium, or an indoor stadium? Where are your seats? Knowing ahead of time what the venue looks like and how it is laid out will prepare you for the type of day you will be encountering.
Rain Or Shine
Anytime there is a chance of being outside, you always want to pay attention to the weather. Rain or shine, these large sporting events go on without hesitation. If there is even the slightest chance of rain, don’t assume the game will be cancelled—athletes have been trained to play in the worst conditions, so be ready to go no matter what.
Rain and Night Games
Layers for warmth
Sweatshirt with a hood
Rain poncho (no umbrellas; they block the view of your neighbors)
Rain boots (if necessary)
Lightweight jacket or long sleeve (perhaps something you can tie around your waist)
Hat to shield your face
Go The Distance
Let’s not sugar coat it, the duration of the day will be long, especially after going up and down those steep stairs for hot dogs. Wearing extra comfortable shoes is more than a necessity for any game day activity so stick with shoes with rubber soles like trainers, or even a shoe with a small wedge heel to make sure your feet are not going to give out on you half way through the day.
Know The Team Colors
If you are a fan, support your team by wearing team colors! It may seem silly, but it’s part of the fun to give in to sports traditions. If you feel strange walking through the grocery store before hand with paint on your face, we promise you’ll feel right at home as soon as you get in that stadium. In fact, you may even feel left out by NOT wearing the team colors. Also, knowing the opposing teams colors is a good idea too, because nothing is more awkward then accidentally choosing an all orange ensemble at a Los Angeles Dodgers home game versus The San Francisco Giants.
Small Bags Are Best
Choosing a bag that is small and requires no hands is your best bet, because you’ll want to stay mobile and not worry about finding a place to set it down. Who knows how many drinks are spilled at a game, and we don’t want your bag getting soaked with soda and mustard from being smashed on the floor by your feet. Also, the NFL now has a clear bag policy, so make sure to keep up to date on rules and regulations.
Getting the chance to attend a sporting event is a real experience from the beginning. From the pre-game grill sessions, to the screaming fans, to the little kids dancing in the stands, to the “kiss-cam” on the big screen, you’ll find there is plenty to take in besides just the game. So put on your best game-face and get rowdy with the professionals!
One of my favorite things about being a part of NFL Fan Style was getting to showcase all of the fun ways to style out my favorite gear. This season, Levi’s had me feeling super cool with the pieces they created for both men and women. I have worn my black and yellow Steelers trucker flannel more times then I can count. What I love about the denim jacket, is that it is perfectly on trend to wear all year around.
You can check out their whole collection here. Even though the season is winding down, you can always show your team spirit with this collection.
Besides styling out for the NFL, Levi’s is having a lot of fun with other collections as well. My style has always had a tomboy edge, mixed with a little rock and roll. This rock steady collection has me dancing to my own rhythm. And just saying, I will be mixing my Steelers flannel right under their cool leather jacket!
It’s Wild Card Weekend for my Steelers! I can’t believe the NFL playoffs are already here. This past season has been so much fun and such an amazing journey being a part of the NFL Fan Style Fantasy Football Blogger League. Although our fantasy team has come to an end, I will be continuing to bring you all things football leading up to the Super Bowl 2017.
This Sunday, the Steelers are facing off at home against the Miami Dolphins. I am here in NYC, and my favorite Cuce boots from the NFL shop are absolutely perfect for the weather. They have been one of my favorites this season for showing off my NFL Fan Style. Paired with my favorite beanie I am GameDay ready!
In the next few weeks, I will be rounding up some of my favorite player’s fashion style over the year, as well as keeping up with all the fun Super Bowl collaborations that are taking place. Until then here are some of my favorite looks, including this super cool denim jacket and trucker shirt from levi’s.
I couldn’t wear my Junk Food tee more this year both layered under a jacket and on its own. They have a full line of NFL shirts that are on point. I already am planning on purchasing another raglan tee from them.
Receiving my own custom Wilson football with my team name Steelers and Stilettos on it was another highlight. I will keep it with all of my sports memorabilia. It is such a fun reminder of playing for the first time in fantasy football!
The women of Steelers football love to wear their jerseys, and I will be wearing my #84 Antonio Brown with pride. Not only is he one of my favorite players, his own fashion sense is on point. Lets hope it brings me luck as I cheer them on waving my terrible towel!
