Every summer in Las Vegas, the NBA puts on a display like you have never seen. What started over a decade ago by Warren Legaire, with the help of my father who is a seasoned NBA coach, has turned into the must be place of the summer. Young players and rookies come out to play with their respected NBA teams and it is a place to watch all of the amazing young talent. This year was a whole different level for me, as I had several meetings during the week, for both design and social media.
Celtics and Lakers Matchup
On day one, the entire Thomas and Mack arena was sold out, and people were waiting outside to get in. The first matchup between the Celitcs and the Lakers was crazy. If you are watching hoops, you know that Lonzo Ball, who was drafted by the Lakers, is a person to watch, and the fans came out screaming.
Not only that, it is a place for every agent, coach, owner, and front office to come together once a year to watch and scout talent. It is so fun, as 25 years with my dad coaching in the league, I know so many people and love chatting about who are the people and teams to watch. Here is pictured above showing plays to young coaches during one of the Milwuakee Bucks practices.
Also, it has hit the media hard. Both NBA TV and TNT broadcasters are out interviewing. NBA TV now broadcasts all of summer league on television as well as ESPN. The crew from The Starters did a great live set each day interviewing players.
Besides young players, pretty much every major NBA player shows up sometime during the week. Two of my favorite sightings were John Wall and of course Lebron James. Being in Vegas, it is the perfect place to come out, go out at night, and have a little fun while watching hoops.
Well I am here in Vegas for ten days, and I am not going to lie, I may be missing that Cali weather. It definitely is hot here, which calls for lots of pool days. NBA summer league has taken over the town, and I certainly am getting in lots of time at the gym as well.
I am totally obsessed with this cute look, because when inside it is freezing so you definitely need a light jacket. Spiritual Gangster has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Their cute tees and jackets are always fun and cozy.
Another of my favorite denim lines Paige, has branched out into the cutest t-shirts. I love this little California one that I picked up from Saks. It is perfect mixed with the bomber and my favorite worn in denim shorts.
I am totally obsessed with these Adidas kicks. The colors are super fun for summer, and they are totally comfortable for being in the gym all day. I will wear them with a cute summer dress as well!
I have been loving this reversible bag from Nordstrom. The silver metallic is fun and trendy, and it is under $50.00 dollars making it a total steal!
So, we know that I usually am all over the athleisure game, but when a week in Vegas calls, some proper going out looks are in store. I’m here for NBA Summer League, and I will have a ton of fun details for you all week long. One of the fun things about this trip, is that there is literally a fun event every single night. So kick up your dancing heels with me this week as I take you through all the ins and outs of Vegas life!
One of my favorite lines of clothing is A.L.C., and this Alexa dress with the Star print had me at hello. I love a good long dress with a sexy back, and they hit it out of the ballpark for me on this one.
I am all about a good flat with a long dress, and this Sam Edelman from Nordstrom is perfect. The off white mixed with gold make them a little more dressy. Also, who doesn’t love a great pop of color? Hello purple, I am in love. This bag from Onna Ehrlich has been an oldie but goodie for years.
I think I have found the absolute perfect skirt combo for dancing. Thank you Alice and Olivia for this gorgeous little number. I simply paired it with my favorite tight tank from Nordstrom, because this heat is sweltering! I love a chunky heel, they are more comfortable for me, and Chinese Laundry has great ones that won’t break the bank.
I finished off the look with my new favorite earrings from J.Crew, they are totally fun and on trend. Of course, I broke out my classic Chanel bag for summer league. My all time favorite bag, and let me tell you I have had it for ten years and I only wear it here and there.
