Today is one of the biggest travel days of the year, and no matter where you are headed for the holiday, you can still look chic from point A to point B. Celebrity street style has become its own red carpet, and some of the most authentic and best dressed fashion comes straight from the tarmac. As you pack up to head out, take a look at some of my favorite style influencers who make traveling look effortless, comfortable, and chic.
For the past three years, I have had the pleasure to shoot with Pediped footwear in Las Vegas.
The pediped® philosophy is simple: comfort, quality and style, in that order, which is why pediped® was one of the first children’s shoe companies the American Podiatric Medical Association awarded their Seal of Acceptance for promoting healthy foot development.
These shoes for kids are amazing and with each season they get more creative and trendy with their different styles. When it comes to shooting with kids, it is such fun and different experience. They come to set with a whole different type of energy and excitement, and of course they love to jump, dance, and wiggle around making my job both fun and sometimes more challenging.
If you are a mom, make sure to go to www.pediped.com for all the newest styles.
Some more fun shots from years past that I styled….
Interview with the talented Summer Bellessa who is quite possibly the best dressed mom out there!
You and I have known one another for a long time, you are one of the more stylish entrepreneurs I know, what and how did you get started in fashion?
I started modeling at 4. That was my introduction into the fashion world, with Sears catalogs, and runway shows. I modeled full time at 16, and briefly had a clothing line at 23.
You created a magazine back in the day named ELIZA that was geared toward modesty and fashion, why do you think this is so important for women?
I think it’s important not to show womanhood in only one note. Yes, we’re sexual beings, but we also have a lot more to offer.
As a mother, you juggle about 500 hats (so amazing) how do you stay on top of trends and mommy duty at the same time?
Sometimes there really isn’t enough hours in the day, so I try to stay classic and timeless. It can save you time and money, rather than chasing every trend. I only incorporate trends that really speak to me or make me happy, like hot pink lipstick, or embellishments.
You and brooke white have and amazing and fun site called “The Girls With the Glasses” – what type of information can women find here?
We create videos about fashion, beauty, motherhood, and we sing the occasional parody.
What are some of your top trends for kids this summer, as I know you love to keep those little ones on their toes!
Having boys, I feel like I have to hunt a little deeper for cute things. I like the low crotch pants, nautical stripes, colorful kicks, and hats.
What is one must have for summer that you can’t live without?
White. I’m obsessed with white right now. Being a mom, it’s the closest thing I have to living on the edge.
Which sums up my days on set with them. They bring a different type of energy that keeps you on your feet and you are challenged in a different way. One of my favorite clients is Pediped footwear. Not only are they absolutely charming and cute, they are one of the best and sturdiest shoes for kids. Each time I work with them I get to check out all of the hot trends for kids, and these guys have it nailed. One of my favorites is their Chanel inspired quilted boot above and their active wear line.
Challenge or no challenge, these shoes should be on every parent’s radar.
In the past year, I had the wonderful experience of meeting not only one of my favorite characters while growing up, but styling Mario Lopez and his beautiful family for People Magazine.
Stylists wear so many different hats, and I love when I have a day to be challenged with both men, women, and kids. Not only was this couple one of the nicest families, they of course have fun and great taste!
Mario knows exactly what he looks good in (pretty much everything) but what I like the most is that it’s an easy and classic style. Polos and jeans were a big staple in his closet with great tennis shoes.
Living in California style becomes relatively laid back and classic, and when the weather gets a little cooler a great jacket is easy to layer over.
