It is that time of the year again when we are all ready to put away our winter clothes and break out our little tops and shorts. This season, I already am obsessed with all things ruffled. Yes, it is a bit girly for me, but when mixed with masculine touches the look is fun and edgy. If you want one trending piece in your wardrobe is certainly is an off the shoulder top. This piece from Lisa Marie Fernandez available at Hiptique is sexy and playful. You can wear it with a long skirt, distressed denim, and it is perfect for any music festival!
As we know, high-waisted denim is my favorite, and they always are the perfect pairing with a crop top. The whole look definitely is very festival, and also pretty good for a Cali night. If the weather is a bit chilly, pair something longer like a silk duster to keep the look pulled together.
Another big trend for Spring is detailed denim. Whether you go for a pair loaded with pearls and sequins, or find something simple like this detailed stripe, make sure to find a pair that suites your style. I love that this Mcgurie pair from Hiptique has a masculine and athletic look to them. Mixing them with this ruffle top keeps me feeling edgy. Also, a simple white tee and some kicks is just as cool.
If I am not in kicks, then I usually veer towards cool boots. We know that I am rarely in a heel, and this patent pair is so fun! Not to mention that they are under $50 from Lulu’s. What I love about California, is you can wear booties all year long. This is the perfect pair to mix with a cool pair of denim shorts and a track jacket, or a long skirt and denim jacket.
This season it is all about having fun with pants. Embroidery is a big trend, and we are seeing it on denim and pants. I have just discovered this playful line Self-Portrait. All of the pieces are known for their intricate details, which makes each design feel custom and special.
These embroidered pants I found are perfect for my style. They can go both dressy and casual depending on how you wear them. As the weather cools down, I cannot wait to pair them with a chunky sweater and my moto boots.
Another trend that has made a serious comeback is the turtleneck. Whether you purchase a basic one, like this Mcguire Denim top, or go for something with a fun print, you can add it to your wardrobe rotation very easily. I will be wearing this all season under my jackets.
Burgundy is still a huge trend in color that is everywhere. Last season I purchased this incredible cross body Chloe Handbag. They have updated this seasons version in suede, but make sure you find something to purchase in this gorgeous color.
Never under estimate the power of a great black pump. This is a classic that will never go out of style, and Steve Madden makes three versions in suede, leather, and patent. If you ever question a heel, simple and clean will always be a winner.
This past Wednesday night, I was invited to an intimate dinner at my favorite boutique Hiptique. The store partnered up with One Nine Design to gather a group of entrepreneurial women in the industry for a night of mingling and talking business.
One Nine Design, founded by Stephanie Kimes, is an experiential design and production company. They curate experiences and bring ideas to life, and with this she has brought her own idea of the OND Social Series to life. It will be a monthly Los Angeles based event bringing women together to make contacts and gather cool ideas. Wednesday night did not disappoint, from the food to the DJ, and of course the shopping. All among 19 women who have created their own business.
On Tuesday, I offered the store my stylist experience, to dress the mannequins. I also did some fun personal shopping before the dinner with all of the women. Part of what I do for a living is personal shopping, and being able to offer advice to women in all sorts of business fields always makes me happy. Also using my creativity to do some fun window displays for fall was quite fun.
