Well, the holidays are here, and if you are like me, that means planes, planes, and automobiles. I am off today for Las Vegas, then taking off again on Wednesday for an NBA game, and will be flying back on turkey day, followed by a turnaround right back to Los Angeles on Friday. Yes, this is the time that traveling can be super stressful on us, but I am here to give you my simple tips to stay sane all the way through Jan. 1st!
My number one for traveling is being comfortable, cozy, but yet fashionable. Let me be honest, I love my sweats, but for the plane, I like to make sure that I feel put together. You never know who you are going to meet. For me, I am all about a great sweater like this one from Smythe, available at Hiptique. It is soft, and also keeps me warm on the flight.
My favorite travel sweaters are below.
I also like to wear a simple pant or legging with a pair of sneakers. I hate having to take off too many layers in security, and sometimes boots are hard to get on and off. Also, I always try to keep my bags to a carry on, and then bring a second tote that I can store my computer in. I know that can be hard with bulky pieces, but if you color coordinate your wardrobe it makes it easy to get through a weekend with just a few pieces. I am obsessed with the Boat and Tote from L.L. Bean, and I have linked a few other of my favorites that have a ton of room!
Last, my skin takes the biggest hit when I travel, even if it is just a quick flight, so I always bring a few items that I know will keep me hydrated. Also, a huge water is always in hand and some great snacks that will keep me from eating anything bad at the airport bar or in flight. I love simple packs of nuts and a good protein bar. I try not to drink alcohol on a flight, as it dehydrates me more. I live for the following products when I am flying.
CHEERS TO SAFE TRAVELS THROUGH THE HOLIDAY SEASON!
So your social schedule is packed? Well I have you covered starting now with my pick of the best statement making styles and festive yet versatile pieces for all ways to celebrate. I am starting my holiday picks early, because Black Friday and Cyber Monday are a moment away, and what better time to snag some amazing pieces that are on sale and wearable even after the holidays are over!
I have a serious crush on this dress from A.L.C.. and love the silver metallic for the holidays, and I simply paired it with my favorite vintage clutch, which I have linked a similar one here for you. This one is only $99.00.
Also, I love a fun nude pump, and these from Steve Madden are perfect all year long. If you are feeling even more in the spirit, find a festive pump that you can pair with a simple sweater and some boyfriend jeans.
Check out some of my favorite holiday pieces below, courtesy of Nordstrom. You will find me on-line and in store next week for all of their deals and steals!
How is the holiday season already here? I mean, it just seemed like yesterday was the Fourth of July. That being said, like most of us, this time of year is one of my favorites. I yearn for nights sitting in front of the fire in my cozy sweats, drinking hot cocoa with my family and friends. There are so many holiday events around this time, that when I don’t have to be dressed up, I love to wear sweat pants that can transition from the couch to real life. One of my favorite brands that I have found is Sundry. Their pieces are always fun, trendy, and super comfy. These starry sweats just put me in the holiday mood, and make a great gift for the females in your life.
Here in Cali, the weather never dips too low, but in the morning a good sweater and beanie are easy for a coffee run. I can walk to my local shop, so this cool mesh sweatshirt I found at a thrift store is totally my style. Any old piece will work over this tee and bottom combination. I have beanies in every flavor, and I usually just pick them up at Nordstrom in their Brass Blum section for under $25.00!
One of the things that I love about this look is that it screams casual and fun. Basically it is the I rolled out of bed looking cool look. For me this works while I run errands and for when I just want to sit on the couch. My rule of thumb is to put a cool pair of kicks with the whole look to bring it all together.
These Vans are a shiny happy patent leather. I mean look at that smile, which may really be because I get to finally take a breather and spend some time relaxing. These kicks are great, because not only are they super casual, they will take me right into the spring as well. I know it is hard to wrap your mind around that, but I am already thinking of cute denim shorts and a tee with these. Hopefully they will stay clean enough the next few months!
Cheers to the beginning of an amazing and cozy holiday season. Check out my favorite cute and casual sweats that will make everyone’s season merry and bright!
It is almost 2017, and I couldn’t be more excited. Today is my last day in Los Angeles for a few months. Watching the ball drop in NYC for the first time in my life is so exciting, not to mention all of the fun things that are going on with design and the blog.
I love a fun maxi dress, and Keepsake the Label from Nordstroms is one of my favorite lines. The price point is always amazing, and their dresses are spot on for a party look.
Not only that, but Topshop always has the most fun accessories. I mixed up the dress with some fun leopard booties and added a beaded clutch!
It is that time of year when I have so many parties it is hard to keep track. For me, I am usually running from one party to the next, so I like to find a holiday look that works for both the day and night. This week alone, I have a work party in the day, a fun holiday cookie event in the evening, and the annual holiday walk and fireworks show in Manhattan Beach.
These pants from Lulu’s are perfect for the holidays. Not only do they scream fun with their wide legs and fun slits, the color is spot on for any celebration. Not only will they go great with a chunky sweater, but I will wear them with a black pump and a fun bodysuit for a fancier event.
Can we say that velvet is the trend of the season? I took one look at these Steve Madden boots and new that I had to have them. I have always been a fan of over the knee boots in the winter. The texture of these makes the whole look feel even more festive.
I tend to live in chunky sweaters during the winter. Every year Express has some of my favorites. I love the color of this one, and as the weather transitions it will look gorgeous with a pair of white jeans. Mixing up the light rose with the darker burgundy makes the look pop even more.
