Springing into Wedding Season!

So there is something about knowing I have two very different weddings in the next few months. One is happening down in Mexico, that has a fun casual vibe, and one is a very fashion forward event. So what do I do to mix it up and feel cool in both places? I headed to Hiptique because they are my one stop shop for all thing fancy and casual. I mean their bathing suit selection is another story….but that is coming next month.

Hiptique jumpsuit for a wedding

Let me start with being fashion forward, because that is not in my total comfort zone. This jumpsuit is pretty much amazing, and from one of my favorite lines Michelle Mason. For me, it is about making a bit more masculine by adding a blouse under it.

Messy bun

Also, if I am going fashion forward, the hair in a big bun does the trick, I mean I actually feel really high fashion!

And now to my comfort zone, which means a wedding in Mexico that screams for a long dress.

This is me, mid dance having a blast, and realizing I can dance the night away in this floral dress from Harshman. Not to mention my normal go to is a messy braid that will last all night long!

Also, the back of this dress is totally my style, and guess what, this girl can get away with some converse chucks with it. But…yes, even if I have a fashion forward wedding, at the end of the night I am putting on some Nike Cortez kicks, like the ones from Maria Sharapova!Nike Cortez

Stepping up my Spring Fashion Game!

So it is that time of the year when I have several brunches, showers, and dressier events that are coming up. I love to keep it casual cool, with pieces that can go either way. When you invest in a few key pieces, you certainly can mix and match them throughout the season. I fell in love with these pants from Hiptique by the label CAMI. If there ever were a pant that screamed my name, these would be it. They are high-waisted, feel like butter, and can be paired for a night out or a casual day with a sweater and kicks.

This label also makes a killer silk bodysuit, which are my new go to. This whole looks is perfect for a dressy event, and pairing a cool bandana scarf with it makes it even more on trend. What I love about this top, is it looks just as cool with distressed denim and a trendy belt.

The Amy Surplice Silk Charmeuse Bodysuit

These white boots were made for walking, and dancing. I cannot believe that I never thought I could pull these off, and have worn them more then any other boot in my closet! It is not too late to invest, and this pair from Jessica Simpson, available at Nordstrom are going to be just as killer with some shorts this season.

I am in love with little two piece numbers that go together as a dressier piece, and can be super casual on their own. Lisa Marie Fernandez makes some killer bathing suits, and her new line of clothing is just as cool. Definitely invest in an off the shoulder top this season, and pair it with denim and skirts like I did here. I also will be paring that bodysuit above with this skirt and either kicks or some cool heels.

I love any type of woven bag for spring/summer. This piece from L Space Swim available at Hiptique as well, is the perfect size. I take it out to brunches, to the beach, and also while shopping the local farmers market. It is definitely vacation approved as well! Cheers to spring and the time of year when I really feel like you can take so many key pieces through the summer and mix them up however you choose.

Surfs Up in Cali!

Well spring is pretty much here! The weather is starting to get warmer, and the days are finally longer. I love living at the beach, and this is one of my favorite times of year. The days feel perfect, but the nights are still cool enough to throw on a jacket. As we know, I am all about a fun tee, mixed with well…the unexpected. These high-waisted pants from Hiptique are absolutely so adorable. They have just the cutest little floral print on them, but the shape is still more masculine. I love mixing it with this California tee, and adding a denim jacket at night. I am all about some major sneakers this spring, and there are drops galore. I definitely have about five pairs on my radar now, and that is not even the beginning!

How cute are these mint Reebok’s from DSW? I love that you can find so many great pairs of kicks for the right price there. Not to mention, I always carry a little purse filled with my favorite makeup when I am running around town, and this one from Hiptique as well, makes me smile!

Stepping into Spring!

It is that time of the year again when we are all ready to put away our winter clothes and break out our little tops and shorts. This season, I already am obsessed with all things ruffled. Yes, it is a bit girly for me, but when mixed with masculine touches the look is fun and edgy. If you want one trending piece in your wardrobe is certainly is an off the shoulder top. This piece from Lisa Marie Fernandez available at Hiptique is sexy and playful. You can wear it with a long skirt, distressed denim, and it is perfect for any music festival!

As we know, high-waisted denim is my favorite, and they always are the perfect pairing with a crop top. The whole look definitely is very festival, and also pretty good for a Cali night. If the weather is a bit chilly, pair something longer like a silk duster to keep the look pulled together.

Another big trend for Spring is detailed denim. Whether you go for a pair loaded with pearls and sequins, or find something simple like this detailed stripe, make sure to find a pair that suites your style. I love that this Mcgurie pair from Hiptique has a masculine and athletic look to them. Mixing them with this ruffle top keeps me feeling edgy. Also, a simple white tee and some kicks is just as cool.

If I am not in kicks, then I usually veer towards cool boots. We know that I am rarely in a heel, and this patent pair is so fun! Not to mention that they are under $50 from Lulu’s. What I love about California, is you can wear booties all year long. This is the perfect pair to mix with a cool pair of denim shorts and a track jacket, or a long skirt and denim jacket.

Comfy Cozy Winter Beauty

Winter is officially here, and for many of us that means that our skin begins to take in the dry and brutal cold weather. With the heat indoors, that can suck the life out of anyone’s routine. I have three different work trips coming up, on top of doing NBA All-Star, which means that taking extra care at night is crucial to keep me glowing. Also, I tend to hibernate a bit when I am working like this, so also staying comfy for me is key in cute sweats, like these ones from Sundry. What I love about them, is that they look just as cute with these Nike kicks to run a few errands around town as well!

In the morning, I always start off with my coffee, while doing some reading and using the coolest and inexpensive tool, the Hansderma Ice Roller. I simply roll it over my face and neck to instantly tighten and depuff my skin. I also sleep at night with my humidifier from Amazon. It is the perfect tool to keep hydrated. Also, I drink at least two liters of water a day in the winter, I know it can be hard, but pick up a fun Swell Bottle which makes water seem so much cooler.

As for my skincare routine, I use ReVive Skincare and Malin + Goetz. Both of these lines can be found at Nordstrom. I always suggest seeing your favorite skincare specialist to walk you through the best products for your skin. I tend to not use my Glycolic pads more then once a week during the winter and focus on a once a week mask that is more hydrating!
