Gifts that Give Back!

Every holiday season I am reminded of how fortunate I am for my family and loved ones. Just taking the time to sit for an hour or so and look back at the past year makes me want to continue to do good for others. One of my favorite organizations, Project 150 in Las Vegas, donates clothing and supplies to homeless teens.  Las Vegas will always hold a piece of my heart, and it feels so good to help out the community by dropping off a box or more of clothing. I also love to find unique gifts for friends and family that also donate proceeds to charity. In fact, it is a reminder to do it all year long. Cheers to the rest of the holiday season and into the new year, and check out my favorite gifts that give back below!

Last Minute Gifts

If you are like me, I tend to wait until the last possible moment to finish up my Christmas list. Usually the people that I shop for on-line I have done, but I always seem to have a few that need to be taken care of still. I find that most of the time it is my boyfriend, father, and any other men in my life, because I think that they will be easy, and then they tend to be impossible! Also, I like to still do stockings, but I always forget about those as well until a few days before. That being said, some of my last minute gifts for him, plus my stocking favorites for her are below!

Stocking stuffers for her

I love a fun necklace or a great body butter for any women. If you are going more intimate, then the jewelry is the way to go. If you are trying to please anyone, this great lotion or lipgloss is the trick. For the techy, a cool phone case is perfect!

You cannot go wrong with a great cologne or some cool new luggage when it comes to the men in your life. I simply love Tom Ford and all of his scents, and this is my go to for anyone. Leopard Coats and Kicking Boots!

FINALLY, it is cold enough here in Cali to put on a cool coat and rock some fishnet tights with boots. I do not know about you guys, but I have a huge crush on outerwear and probably own way too many jackets, just like my sneakers. This season, besides faux fur, I love a fun leopard print. This one is from J.Crew and right now is totally on sale at 30% off! My other top picks are from ASOS and Topshop. You are even seeing leopard fur on army jackets, and in the linings to add a bit of a funk.

Double Leopard Topcoat

I have also kind of fallen in love with hats this season. I’m usually in a baseball cap or my favorite straw summer hat, so I decided to branch out and purchase a fun beret this season along with a lieutenant hat. I have to say, it totally makes for a fun gift for the on trend girl, and adds a hint of cool girl factor to a look. The one above is only $40 at Nordstrom. If you are feeling frisky, their Brass Plum section has all kinds of bright colors.

I have partnered up with Daniel Wellington this season, who offer some of the best timepieces out there. Not only that, they have all kinds of amazing deals and bundles that they offer. The price point is great, and makes for the perfect gift. From now until December 31st, when you use my code “SUZIG” at checkout, you will get an additional 15% off. Oh, and there are additional discounts, free shipping and returns, and gift wrapping. I mean, it is a one stop shop for everyone on your list!

Sporty t-shirt dress

I also have to say, that the sporty T-shirt dress is here to stay, so why not continue to wear it by layering it the way I did here. Both adidas and Champion have my favorites. The way to make it funky for this season, is definitely with a coat like this and some jazzy fishnets. I love tights, and for me, I always try to find pairs that make my look sparkle.

Lace-up boots

Yep, these boots were made for walking, dancing, and just about anything this winter. If I am not in kicks, I turn to block style boots, and these have that utility feel to them with a bit of feminine edge. These are from Sam Edelman at Nordstrom, but you can find some amazing deals as well on Zappos. My other favorites right now are Timberlands!

If you are looking for a classic, then look no further then the checker Vans. These became an instant must have sneaker in the skate world years ago, and they have never gone out of style! Also, these too are a great affordable gift.

Traveling in Style During the Holidays!

Well, the holidays are here, and if you are like me, that means planes, planes, and automobiles. I am off today for Las Vegas, then taking off again on Wednesday for an NBA game, and will be flying back on turkey day, followed by a turnaround right back to Los Angeles on Friday. Yes, this is the time that traveling can be super stressful on us, but I am here to give you my simple tips to stay sane all the way through Jan. 1st!

Traveling in style with this sweater

My number one for traveling is being comfortable, cozy, but yet fashionable. Let me be honest, I love my sweats, but for the plane, I like to make sure that I feel put together. You never know who you are going to meet. For me, I am all about a great sweater like this one from Smythe, available at Hiptique. It is soft, and also keeps me warm on the flight.

My favorite travel sweaters are below.

B.P. Sweater

I also like to wear a simple pant or legging with a pair of sneakers. I hate having to take off too many layers in security, and sometimes boots are hard to get on and off. Also, I always try to keep my bags to a carry on, and then bring a second tote that I can store my computer in. I know that can be hard with bulky pieces, but if you color coordinate your wardrobe it makes it easy to get through a weekend with just a few pieces. I am obsessed with the Boat and Tote from L.L. Bean, and I have linked a few other of my favorites that have a ton of room!

Last, my skin takes the biggest hit when I travel, even if it is just a quick flight, so I always bring a few items that I know will keep me hydrated. Also, a huge water is always in hand and some great snacks that will keep me from eating anything bad at the airport bar or in flight. I love simple packs of nuts and a good protein bar. I try not to drink alcohol on a flight, as it dehydrates me more. I live for the following products when I am flying.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray

Dry Shampoo for traveling in style

Rosebud salve
