What do you get for the sports lover out there? Whether it is a male or a female, I have listed some of my favorite sports gifts that will cover anyone on your list. From the fashionista to the tailgating king, there is something here for everyone. One of my favorite things is supporting up and coming lines. Rastaclat x NBALAB is celebrating the virtues of pride, righteousness, integrity, discovery, and excellence. Rastaclat honors the legacy of professional basketball with the launch of the Rastaclat X NBALAB COLLECTION. The NBA Lab is a research and development incubator aimed at innovative design, imaginative concepts and strategic partnerships. Both The Very Warm and Rastclat are able to partner with the NBA because of this amazing concept.
Well here I am with my favorite thing in hand, a basketball. For those of you that ask, I do play and love a good game of hoops or even horse. Right now I feel so lucky to be able to throw down with my dad still on the court. He has taught me a thing or two over the years, and I still watch him during practices as he continues to coach NBA players. That being said, I have grown up in arenas, and it almost feels like a second home. Getting dressed for a game is something I don’t ever think too much about, but many people ask me all the time, and this look is one of my go to outfits.
I love a cool bomber or leather jacket. The Very Warm makes some unbelievable ones, and right now they have just launched an insane collection with the NBA LAB x Barneys New York. It is cold in arenas, so a light jacket is a staple. I like to pair it with a fun tee that is a bit fun or sporty, like this star muscle tee from Sundry. It adds an element to the look. I live in comfy jeans, for me they are easy and on trend.
I don’t always wear team gear to the game. When I do, it is usually a cool vintage tee, jersey, or baseball cap with my teams logo. I am a huge Jordan fan, so I own several kicks and fun apparel. I love this simple black hat, it adds to the outfit and covers up my eyes on those days when I am tired. Also, you can see here, this jacket is reversible making it even more fun for a game.
I almost always wear sneakers to the game, and these throwback retro Nike’s are fun and girly at the same time. They were on my list for awhile, and they add a bit of color and fun to the whole look. Any type of throwback is fun right now, and very on trend. So cheers to a fun season of basketball and more of my favorite outfit ideas!
One of my favorite things about being a woman who loves sports is finding smaller businesses to support. There are a bunch of cute new t-shirt and clothing lines that are super fun and fashionable for the perfect game day style! The simplicity of this shirt from Game Day Basics is perfect. It makes a statement but is casual enough so you can pair it anyway you would like. I threw on my Zara trench coat and beat up denim from Citizens of Humanity to make it stylish. Also, I am obsessed with these oxblood Vans for Fall.
Also, just a little reminder that you have to bring in a stadium approved handbag to all college and NFL football games. I am sure the MLB and NBA are soon to follow. I just found the cutest new line from Game Day Divas. The chain strap makes it feel more luxurious than a lot of the brands out there, and I actually will find myself carrying it during the day with other looks! This company is doing fun things, so I will keep you in the know of some of their new styles!
Besides these Vans, I also love a good slip on for my game day style. These Steve Madden rose gold sneakers are a go to. They make a statement if you are looking for a bit of shine and pep in your step. This trend of metallics is still going strong, and you will also be seeing lots of studs on shoes as well!.
Well it is that time of the year when the weather starts to heat up, but that doesn’t mean you have to step off your athleisure game. Yes, I love the layering of it all during the fall and winter months, but you can still do it right by adding lighter pieces or a fun dress that screams game day fun! What I love about both of these looks is that they are very different One being more preppy, and the other a bit more edgy. Both ways, I have you covered for the next month!
I love the vibe of this “cool girl” black and white look. One of my favorite new lines is Ivy Park from Beyonce. Her pieces are just super on trend and have a total swag about them. I just picked up this hat from Nordstrom which I will rock all summer. I live in jean shorts in the summer, and picking up a pair that are worn in like these from Topshop go with everything. Pair them over a bathing suit, or dress them up with some heels and a blouse.
I am totally obsessed with the silhouette of this bomber jacket from adidas. It is great to throw over almost anything if the weather gets a little chilly in the evenings. Can we say YES PLEASE, to these kickin adidas sneakers? They are so sleek looking that I can literally wear them with anything, but they for sure completed this look.
Okay, so sometimes I love to go with the more preppy athleisure vibes. Thanks to A.L.C, one of my favorite lines, this cute dress does the trick. Not only is it super comfortable, the stripes are perfect for the summer and July 4th! You can wear this into the fall with cool boots and a denim jacket.
I decided to mix up my handbag and wear a cute and sporty fanny pack from Nordstrom with it. This one from Amici is under $50, which I call a major steal. If you are a bit fearful of trying this trend, grab a cool nylon tote instead. I also paired it with a cool watch from Cluse, which is both sporty and cool at the same time.
It is all about the details on this dress. One of the things that sets it apart from other striped dresses, is the design detail. The cool cutout details in the arms make it a bit more designer looking and trendy at the same time. Once again, pair it with a cool watch and you are all set.
Hello Nike Air Huarache’s for the win. I have these in three colors now, because they are so cute, comfy, and universal. I run in these, do classes, and wear them around town. I love them with this dress for a sporty look, and I will also pair them with my workout gear too.
Well, it is already the middle of March, and the NCAA men’s college basketball tourney has begun. I grew up watching my father coach UNLV in three final four tournaments. The memory of winning the National Championship in 1990 makes me nostalgic every year when this time comes around. The athletes and coaches pour their heart and souls into every game, and the excitement of it all never gets old. This year, I will get the opportunity to see the Sweet 16 here in New York City, and this Game day style is casual and works for every fan. If your team is in the hunt, make sure to sport your team colors along the way!
The track jacket is back, and there are no shortage of great ones to be found from many retailers. I love this one from H&M because it is simple and comes in a few different colors. I will mix it up with tees during the games, and it will look fun at night with an edgy leather skirt in the summer.
Athleisure is huge right now, and many stores like Topshop are doing fun throw back vintage tees from different college and pro teams. Since I am not really routing for any team in particular, this fun Wildcats shirt screams team spirit with a cool girl edge.
Now to the jeans. If you are following trends, frayed and patchwork boyfriend denim is all the rage. Try a fun style that suits your body type. This pair from Zara have a wide leg and sit at the hip, which is perfect for my frame. If you are a bit shorter or curvy, try a higher-waisted pair that come to the ankle with a straighter leg.
One way to show your rah rah style, is with a pop of gold! Thanks to H&M this handbag not only adds a fun touch, but it is under $50. I paired it with a simple watch from H&M as well and stacked on some rings from Topshop to make the look my own.
Last, lets not forget about the shoes Stan Smith! I love the comeback that Adidas is having right now. This throwback sneaker was one of my first pairs back in the day, and now they are back on trend. I love that you can get them in plain white, or find a pair with the small bit of color at the heel.
