Well if I may say so myself this week is going to be really fun for all things fashion. NYFW A/W 2017 is underway, and there are no shortage of amazing collections and street styles to be seen. As athleisure takes flight, you are seeing more designers collaborating with sneaker companies for exclusive shoes that will appear on the runway and then sold as smaller collections for the brand.
Besides all of the New York madness, lets not forget that NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans is on February 19th. If you are keeping up in the fashion scene, we know that these hoops players are becoming their own fashion stars, and last year the front row during the slam dunk contest was its own runway show.
So thanks to Nike, they are releasing shoes for both events, and I have the scoop on them for you below.
NYFW 2017 Collaborations
Sneakers have become a staple in men’s style, and Nike is working with three different fashion brands/designers to celebrate NYFW. The collaborations include ASAP Bari’s VLONE, Comme des Garcons, and Riccardo Tisci, showcasing the Air Force 1 and two different Dunks.

The collaborations, according to Nathan Jobe, senior director of sportswear at Nike, will bring an energy and unique retail experience to fashion week. Put directly, a big thing during Fashion Week is basketball. Nike is taking over the NBA next season, so we will begin to see new ideas and concepts. Asap Bari’s VLONE x Air Force 1 were a hit and allegedly went for $90,00 on eBay. This slightly updated shoe will release again on February 11th.
That directly leads to the release of the NBA All-Star Jordans. The Jordan Brand officially unveils its collection of sneakers for the event, and despite All-Star Weekend being relocated from Charlotte to New Orleans , the Charlotte Hornets still channels through the collection. The 2017 All-Star Collection consists of the Air Jordan 31, Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 6 and uses Charlotte Hornets themed colorways. The Air Jordan All-Star Collection will roll out over the course of NBA All-Star Weekend.
