This past summer I had the pleasure of meeting Kristen Ledlow at NBA Summer League. If you are tuned into TNT or NBA TV, you can’t miss this talented broadcaster whose personal style on and off the court is a reflection of her fun and cool personality. I immediately knew I would love to chat style with her after watching many episodes of Inside Stuff, which she co-hosts with Grant Hill. You will usually catch her wearing cool sneakers mixed in with her wardrobe.

When we had the chance to catch up, I was really excited to chat about how her style has developed over time. Kristen describes it as “sporty chic”, which I think is spot on when you watch her on camera. Her style is a reflection of her personality, and she gets to showcase that on Inside Stuff. Kristen does all of her own wardrobe, which really gives her the chance to develop a fresh and sporty look each week. I love that she builds outfits around sneakers much of the time, and she and co-host Grant Hill will go head to head on sneaker competitions. That to me is what makes fashion fun.  She is definitely a Nike Jordan brand girl, and when asked, the Retro Jordan 4 is her favorite of all time.

Besides, rocking cool Jordan’s, her looks usually have a sporty edge to them. When we crossed paths at NBA All-Star, I couldn’t get enough of the amazing Bebe jacket she wore. When we spoke, Kristen said that she really loved their Spring 2017 collection as it was fun and they did pieces with stars on them, so that was totally fitting. Like many of us, she goes through clothing phases, and right now, she likes to push the envelope a little bit as a broadcaster. You will see her wearing a cool bodysuit, lace and leather, or a great choker.

When she steps out of her role on Inside Stuff, to the sideline for TNT, her look becomes more professional and polished. You will see her wearing a heel instead of sneakers, but she always likes to mix in something fun, like a lace piece or an edgy necklace, to reflect her style. Currently she is covering the Cavs vs Pacers series on TNT for the NBA playoffs. This led into a discussion about how to travel in style. One great tip that Kristen gave me, is that she really has learned to pack staple pieces and just a few pairs of shoes. You will see her mixing and matching pieces throughout.

What most people don’t know is that a seven game series can mean two weeks on the road so being prepared is key. Also, when it comes to beauty, the travel schedule can be difficult. To stay looking great, she drinks a ton of water, and has simplified her beauty routine both on the road and at home.

Of course my last question for Kristen, was whose personal style off the court she enjoys. Russell Westbrook is one of her favorites, because he is always pushing the envelope with fashion. Like I have seen, NBA fashion has changed, and game day style has become its own runway show. She also really loves the way Dwayne Wade dresses, as again, he is a player who truly enjoys fashion. One thing that she said, and I agree, is that these veterans have really led the pack in style, and now all of the younger players have taken note. Their style is fun to watch, and these players are setting the stage in trends both within and outside of the NBA.

Make sure to catch Kristen during the NBA playoff for TNT and co-hosting NBA Inside Stuff on Saturday’s with Grant Hill.
